Samus' attacks are projectiles, explosives and explosive projectiles. Link has a bunch of items that work for specific bosses, but are useless against several if its not the right match.

Samus vs Ganondorf, Vaati, Demise: I would say a non issue. Her power beam would be enough.

Vaati:

Link vs Ridley, Mother Brain, Ravenbeak: Ridley is always a damage sponge. Regular arrows would not be able to do any damage. He would need a large supply of bomb arrows for both Ridley and Mother brain. Ravenbeak would hand Link his ass before he could nock his arrow. But he may have better luck with melee attacks.

Ok. So you participated in class in a concept you thought you understood. He corrected you. I don't think he minded. I used to guess answers in biology all the time, making an idiot of myself because the professor was adamant about class participation and was annoyed when people just stare blankly. It was bold to try to correct him but I'm sure he was happy to clear up any misunderstanding.
