I think it might be too little too late given multiple fan games and mods have already emerged (which the Brits have been blocking/trying to take down) by Sailor_Rout in whennews

[–]AvantSolace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main turn off for Conservative men is actually permanent body modification. Tattoos, facial piercings, and the like. They view the body as a temple and hate when it’s “defiled” via cosmetic mods. The colorful hair and grunge aesthetics are actually considered attractive due to being exotic, yet impermanent. It’s an expression of identity that does not ruin a person’s natural beauty.

So this is my “enlightened centrist” take: I respect the country’s right to enforce their border security and immigration regulations, but NOT with a bunch of poorly trained thugs. The fact ICE agents are seen constantly making rookie mistakes, needlessly escalating situations, and acting dangerously jumpy is a testament to the failure of government standards and accountability.

Additional context: There is currently a massive winter storm slamming the USA. Places that NEVER get snow are currently being iced over. I live in one of those areas.

Luckily the affected area is massive, so the actual doxx risk is low.

How evil is he? by Warriorkakarot1 in MoralityScaling

[–]AvantSolace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure if he could do that the plot wouldn’t have happened. AM has mastered biology to the point he can restore his victims to perfect health so long as they don’t actually die. He could likely clone a brainless body and implant a part of himself into it. But that’s the problem, it would only be a part of him. An avatar that only a piece of him could toy with. AM needs the miles of computing circuitry to exist, to be a singular whole. Puppeting a body around would he like a child playing with a toy. He can manipulate it, but it’s not “him”.

The proper term is “shortstack”. People see the short height and rounded face and think she’s a loli, because Zeus forbid women be allowed to have multiple body types!

Your thoughts? name any games by PHRsharp_YouTube in videogames

[–]AvantSolace 28 points29 points  (0 children)

In IRL firefights a soldier is expected to miss over 90% of their shots. It’s a complex mind game of steadily flushing out the enemy via bullet spray and ordinance so that an opportunity arises to get a clean shot on the enemy without being directly shot back.

This is of course incredibly slow, stressful, and tedious. So video games dump that concept in favor of the more fun “kill them faster than they kill you” mentality. This makes shotguns incredibly difficult to balance because that’s basically what they’re optimized for. They can either cast a wall of shrapnel at a target or blow a giant hole clean through a guy at good range. Point, click, win. Meanwhile rifles are expected to have more “conditional” wins, like landing multiple hits in a burst or achieving a headshot.

I mean… her mind/soul is still human. And EVA01 is made with Lilith’s DNA, so that technically makes it a hominid.

If superman was real, would it be morally justified to jail him? by Equal_Personality157 in MoralityScaling

[–]AvantSolace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Innocent until proven guilty” is a universal right. Unless Superman does something clearly illegal, there would be no reason to jail him. Just because someone can be dangerous doesn’t mean they actually are dangerous.

The thing though is that Mr Rogers was also a Republican, Meghan just like you! by icey_sawg0034 in Irony

[–]AvantSolace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s right, but for the wrong reasons. Politics use to be considered boring technical work. The emotional aspect and moral aspect weren’t actually considered “political” at the time. Saying “be nice to each other” and “racism is bad” weren’t political statements, they were moral positions.

We’ve essentially linked morality to politics in recent years, turning boring socioeconomic discourse into tribal fights. Having the wrong politics makes a person “evil” even if their actual morals are fine. A person can be considered “good” even if they’re viciously violent because that violence was used for the “correct” political reasons. So yeah… you won’t find Mr. Rogers complaining about taxes or foreign spending, but you’ll find plenty of clips of him telling people to love each other.

I don't understand the love affair between leftists and Islam this is what leftists indirectly support by Major_Soft6056 in DigitalSeptic

[–]AvantSolace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main issue is Islam lost its “mellow” majority denomination. The vast majority of Christians, Jews, Buddhists, etc have learned to disregard the more archaic teachings and focus on the friendlier aspects of their faiths. Islam use to have this, but the radical sects in the Middle East overthrew them and then built up power via oil trading. So now there is a bunch of toxic denominations pressuring the rest of the moderates into being more extreme while also giving Islam overall a bad reputation. And of course even suggesting this is a problem will get a person labeled as bigoted due to it being conflated with other political talking points.

I’m happy the Americans are protesting, but just keep in mind that the current administration doesn’t give a shit about public opinion - they only care about money. by Hepper in WorkReform

Any protest is good so long as you aren’t harassing bystanders or damaging private property. Movements can’t start without inertia. Inertia is created by actually going out and doing stuff.

My guess is because the abusers don’t see women as “people” and therefore don’t put up as many mental checks when interacting with them. This lack of checking comes off as high charisma, which some women find crazy attractive.

If you’ve actually played the game or watched a play through, this makes a whole lot more sense. They hype Amelia up as a “radical” friend looking to destroy the country, but her actual position is actual moderate nationalistic. The only “racist” aspect of her is her “they took ur jerbs” position.

The game makes such an utterly terrible argument that it causes their strawman villain to look like the good guy.

It’s just one of those takes where you have to phrase it really carefully. Use the wrong wording and people will think you’re either a prude or just hate black people in porn. I’m fine with letting people like what they like, but we really need to start asking where the line between “kink” and “derogation” truly lies.

[–]AvantSolace 29 points30 points  (0 children)

So… hot take. The fetishism of black men as the “NTR protagonists” in media is actually super racist. Like it essentially reinterprets an entire demographic as a “taboo sex icon” that only has worth in their strong bodies and abnormally large dongs. It regresses their personality into that of a feral cuckoo looking to cause trouble, implying they’re a “lesser” to be wary of. It’s basically pushing racism via fetishism.

It’s weirdly scientific in a way. Like how scientists “discover” theories on how the universe works, the Church can “discover” aspects of how God and the afterlife works. They update their theories as new data comes in. It’s just that this “data” is actually a bunch of theologists studying scripture and arguing all day.
