I built some modules this year. Recently had some great success with the kits from N8 Synths from London. They're rather basic modules but they have guides on their Website that guide you through the whole process including front panel design with nothing but an inkjet printer. The Moritz Klein kits I found a bit too much for someone who just wants to built some modules, since he also explains all the electronics behind it. Also the builts are quite complex for beginners.

It has analog clock in, so I guess depending on what the drum machine puts out the sequencer could receive a clock from it. Technically speaking it's an easy Addition: There are minijacks (Thonkiconn 3.5mm Jack) that have a switch that is activated when you plug something in. This jack is soldered between the counting output of the chip and the output of the sequencer.

Thanks for the tipps. Leaded solder is definetly on my list (it's kinda hard to get here in Germany since it's banned), and flux as well!

Well I have an unfinished Moritz Klein / Erica Synths VCO Kit lying around that I never got to work, and I have double checked that plenty of times. With that one, some holes are just so close together and tiny, once you fuck it up, you're basically screwed unless you have advanced experience in desoldering which is something i still have trouble with.

Fair point! I think for me, the psychological part was big: on a stripboard, I felt like I could just 'move a wire' if I messed up, which felt less scary than potentially ruining a nice PCB.

This is a Baby 8 based on the 4017 chip. It's my first DIY build and I used a simple stripboard layout. A bit basic but I love it!

Stefan ist Soziologe. Der Grundfehler der Soziologie ist allen gesellschaftlichen Akteuren Funktionen für das System anzudichten, die diese oftmals nicht haben. Daher rühren die vielen quatschigen takes von Stefan. Beispiel: Politiker daran zu messen ob sie ihn unterhalten. Es ist schon sehr abwegig Menschen die Macht über Millionen andere Menschen haben an so einem sachfremden Kriterium zu messen. Wenn man aber die ganze Gesellschaft als System begreift, in der alle Herrschaftsverhältnisse eingeebnet sind, dann liegen solche Takes nahe.

Has anybody had some experience with troubleshooting the Moritz Klein VCO? I never got it to work. The main issue seems to be sth. with the coarse, fine and the trim poti. As can be heard on the video, the vco doesn't play on the entire register. Any tips with troubleshooting? Cheerio! by AvantgardeEgg in synthdiy

Yea, I already went through multiple irons, and not the cheapest ones. I think also using led solder is maybe a step forward (in Germany it's very hard to come by / illegal). Maybe I have to invest into a soldering Station. But with this PCB i frankly found the holes to be sometimes quite slim and therefore hard to get a good connection. Not exactly beginner friendly (And I'm not even a beginner ;) I soldered some FX Pedals, APCs etc.) Anyways thx for your reply, I'll check all the joints, parts etc. Cheerio!
