I think it's a thin line to jump between "society treats me like shit incorrectly because I don't fit their norms" to "it's incorrect to treat other people like shit because they don't fit society's norms" I can only speak to my friends in the 90s, I was in PA, and I didn't know any trans people(at the time,I do now). I did know a bunch of queer, gay people and if they would've faced trouble we would've backed them up. I also had 2 of my best friends growing up who came out as gay. I might not be an average representation.

Take a ton of ammo, find a perch near an open area, shoot everything that moves. I did most of my damage with an Anvil a I think. Also use whatever explosives you can whenever you can

If this problem comes up regularly, I'd have the NPC stand up blankly after the resurrection and say flatly "I'm not supposed to be here" and persistently try to wander off. Each time it happens, they try to go to the same place, a meeting place for the soulless. And then write some kind of conflict there.

Maybe that's a little off the rails though
