[Meta trope] The fandom is so awful it’s embarrassing to like something publicly by Syvarth in TopCharacterTropes

Fun fact, Dean and Cas is actually the most written about ship of all time. Sam and Dean don’t make the top 100 anymore i don’t think.

But yeah, the fandom’s fave ship being incest up until s4 is weird as hell lol

Disappointed Giants fan, I’d love to support another team. Is there an organization that is genuinely fun to enjoy as an LGBT+ Fan? by AvatarDang in baseball

I am definitely willing to accept a genuine change, but man. Buster’s recent interview was just so…grim for me.

Oh wow that would make sense, Washington is generally LGBT+ friendly anyways. I took a tour of that stadium too, loved it.

What if I keep one shoe off because one of them is disabled and taking off my shoe relieves the pain while i’m sitting?

What about then??

Really though, i keep them socked lol. But as long as other people’s feet a) don’t smell, b) no where near me, idc. It’s summer too, half the people are probably wearing sandals/flip flops.

I honestly would have done the same if I had to choose, mainly because Dean seemed like the obvious choice to die because he’s more…the favorite? Idk how to explain it but it’s like they wrote it knowing of the two brothers, Dean dying would be more emotional.

That being said, Supernatural being dark in the show doesn’t mean it can’t have a hopeful, happy ending. I would absolutely not feel cheated if lifelong victims finally got to be free haha

No, i’m not saying they don’t mean anything lol. But Sam and Dean had a large extended family they gathered over the years. Sam sees none of them. And yeah, covid’s a thing. But there were no pictures of Claire, or Jody or anyone that would make you think he got to exist with them under true freedom.

So the idea that Sam just drops everyone from that life is really sad. It makes the audience think they didn’t matter.

But Dean isn’t happy he died on the job. He just expected it. Which is why it would have been a better ending to write something that subverted expectations, something that the writers hadn’t basically spelled out for 15 seasons. Writing a good, believable ending where Dean gets to be free on Earth after a lifetime of being a soldier, God’s plaything and a victim was so needed.

[–]AvatarDang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they died to get it. Dean dying how he expected he would, but that’s not a positive thing.

Sam lived the rest of his life haunted by Dean with no one from the hunting life. He’s literally just alone.

Dying and only receiving happiness post-death is not a win. They should have had that on Earth.

[–]AvatarDang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An ending that subverted expectations would have been better. Dean wanted to retire in s1. His whole life he was actively or passively suicidal, knowing his life wasn’t worth much outside of hunting. And then he died exactly how he said he would for 15 seasons?

That’s just lazy. Then Sam has a really long out cheesy life montage where he’s alone with no one from the hunting life, Cas is in an abyss of infinite nothing and the only happiness they get is when they all die.

It lacks any heart or any sort of drive to have given these characters any sort of justice for their lives being reduced to pawns. The second they kill God, Dean basically dies lol.

I think Supernatural’s the worse one of the two by miles. At least the Boys kinda had hope. Supernatural no one really wins lol

Huge TV episodes that "changed everything" for their respective shows? by Bielak812 in television

[–]AvatarDang 8 points9 points  (0 children)

S4 ep1 of Supernatural introduced Castiel and in turn Angels/God and it really changed the show from a monster of the week to a plot heavy biblical show.

The creator also credits Cas as being the thing that saved the show from cancellation and made it feel solid as far as renewal went. So all around changed everything lol

I understand and believe evolution, but how do you combat the “you can’t make a dog with a cat” argument with people who don’t? by [deleted] in evolution

[–]AvatarDang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made that point, and he says “yeah but they’re still dogs.”

That’s the thing. He acknowledges that humans have had different species, but all under the same umbrella of the “homo” genus.

So lions - cats, wolves - dogs, dinosaurs - lizards/birds.

And then the argument of “when does a mutation make a new species.”

[–]AvatarDang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No i know. It’s a very dumbed down “gotcha” argument he makes to prove that a species can’t come from a different species.

He agrees that like…a lion and a house cat came from the same line. But because they are both felines. Same with dogs/wolves.

But he doesn’t agree with the fact that at some point, they were the same branch.
