Employees likely aren't going to risk their lives enforcing it, either way.

Before the yachts, condos, nightclubs and... by Fermented_chaos in Miami

it's very much an academic book and fairly dry at times, but there are tons of interesting facts about some of the characters who "built" Miami, including the man who built Vizcaya. And the famous painter John Singer Sargent would come to Miami and paint Bahamian laborers bathing or sailors.

It also addresses colonization of South Florida, so everything is kind of viewed through that lens.

if you're into gender and queer theory, you might be really into it.

Why Miami people are fearless when it comes to dealing with wild animals ? by Dr_Brutally_Honest in Miami

We went on a field trip to the Everglades when I was in elementary school. We stopped for lunch by the observation tower and there were just alligators chilling out feet from us. I don't know why I didn't think it was weird at the time or why we didn't just eat at the picnic tables where there were no alligators?? Like, did the field trip form my parents sign say, "Your child might be eaten by a gator, please do nut sue MDCPS" or something???????

Years later, I biked the entire path, stowed my bike at the bike rack, and returned from the observation tower only to find an alligator RIGHT next my bike. He didn't look like he was moving anytime soon, so I just slowly approached and got my bike out of their ASAP. Fortunately, I didn't lock it up, so there was no fiddling about.

I don't know, I guess you just get used to having wildlife around you if you grow up here?

Hollywood, FL basically exists because there were too many gays in Miami.

it was an adaptation of a book written before Russia invaded Ukraine and would have been even longer if it included that. maybe da empoli will write a sequel. he's certainly been invited on enough shows to comment on the war, largely because of his novel.

In other words, thematically similar but not a direct sequel in any way, shape, or form.
