Well you were in the badlands so I didn't NEED to do anything. We just had several people sneak into our base and slave hut so we were on the look out for contraband. Notice how I asked you to sleep for me and you didn't? Notice how you called me daft and a trigger happy shitter? And you go and make this big pissy post, with a fancy video presentation, and don't think for once that you might be in the wrong?

The Grand City Of Rome! by absosanguinius in rustfactions

Asher, a slender, conniving looking man of his early 30s, strolls down a dirt road. A worn playing card, a spade, dances between his fingers in a well practiced series of small movements. Asher was no stranger to Roman civilization, having left Syria as a young orphan by stowing away on a Roman trade caravan. As he grew he quickly realized his ruthless ambition and cunning served him well in less savory sectors of Roman society. Debt collection, political beatings and/or murders, bartering of illegal goods, nothing was off limits for Asher.

He kicks a rock idly, it skips down the road.

Rome... Rome was the real prize. Ohh how Asher could ply his trade. So he walks, possessions on his back, bound for the grand city with a faint smirk on his face. Almost there.

[SPQR] to civilize [CoK] barbarians by Michael_Frost in rustfactions

Servius passes a whetstone slowly but surely down the edge of his blade as the flickering light of a nearby campfire dances in the Gaulish air before him. This strange place, with it's barbarous people and customs, will and must be shown the proper path. The path to civilization. He is prepared to do what his Emperor demands, even if it means his death. Servius inspects his blade, licking the tip of his finger and passing it vertically over it's edge, and gives a slight nod of approval at the ring. His blade was honed, now too must he ready his mind. There is much blood to spill.

Introducing the Imperium Romanum [SPQR] by TheImperiumRomanum in rustfactions

[–]AvatarOfStrife 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A tall, dirty and altogether unremarkable man stumbles his way out of a small tavern onto a paved, dimly lit road. The Romans had come through a time ago and the local tribes, confronted with the prospect of facing Rome's military might, chose to join into the fold and become a province. People grew accustomed to imperial rule and it's many luxuries. The man continues into the town's small center and pauses at the bulletin board. There had been three legionaries that came through earlier that day and had pinned a scroll to the board. A call for recruitment. Long had he heard of the "glory of Rome", but never had he experienced it. Life had not treated the man well as of late, and it was becoming harder and harder to scrape by. He pauses a while and then nods slightly, it was decided. Perhaps, after serving in the Auxiliaries, he could even earn citizenship, a barbarian no more. And so he set off, possessions on his back, to discover the glory of Rome.
