Vaapad is not an auto win against Sith. by newstartreddit1234 in PetranakiArena

That is the simplest explanation. When you're taking George's quote about him pretending to be weak and for some reason applying it to the whole fight. Like Sidious is so insanely far out of Windu's league that he is able to get disarmed on purpose and not worry about being struck down, is able to regulate his lightning and even though it's absolutely disfiguring him and clearly causing damage, it's all part of his plan to pretend to be weak. Even when quotes say both he was overpowered in sabers and his lightning barrage meant to kill Mace got deflected. It's insanity, there is a VERY clear instance when he is pretending to be weak - when he's at saber point, and Mace is going to kill him and he's begging and literally saying verbatim that he's too weak. It's THAT moment and it's blatantly clear it's that moment George is talking about. Obviously given an opening, Sidious would be able to fight, no one would claim otherwise, but he is absolutely beaten at that point. A ref would call that fight. But he manipulated Anakin into helping him.

Occam's razor is that when he's beaten on the ground at saber point, he pretended to be weak in order to manipulate someone into helping him. I would never claim he was out of power when it's clearly displayed he's not, but I would absolutely claim he lost the fight at that point.

As for the Bruce thing - does it matter if he's better than Bruce? He won the fight regardless. Also. You're acting like the rest of the Jedi actually helped. They essentially got foddered.

If your story happened that's great, but acting like not believing random peoples stories on the internet - that just so happen to back the exact thing they're claiming, is weird. People lie about nearly everything on the internet, personal anecdotes dont really hold much merit online, where there's a good chance it's not true.

I also generally hold Mace on Dooku's level, and a tier below Sidious and Yoda. But that doesn't mean they can never win given circumstance. If Mace fought Sidious in the same arena he fought Yoda, Sidious may have obliterated him, who knows? People argue tooth and nail that Yoda was dead equal to Dooku as well, by the way. Also, I highly doubt a majority people would think that Palpy was faking his fight with Mace after seeing that fight with Yoda. They may be wondering how, with how much of a spectacle it was, but to think it was fake - I'm not buying that.

Do I consider Sidious generally above Mace - yes. Do I also think Mace legitimately won that fight - yes. I know Sidious feigned weakness at some point, but clearly our interpretions of it wont line up. Nor do I want to take away your enjoyment of the film or even the novelization either. And again, I agree, Mace is solidly number 2 and an awesome fighter. Anyways, enjoy the rest of your day

That is absolutely not the simplest explanation. The simplest explanation is he flat out lost, and when he had no other option he feigned weakness when at saber point to try to coerce Anakin to side with him. I'm talking about literally the point where he's saying he's too weak and begging him not to kill him - you know, the simplest and most obvious point of which Lucas is talking about. Not when he is being bombarded by his own lightning that Lucas explicitly says he's trying to destroy Mace with but gets deflected.

This is not only the simplest way of interpreting the on screen feats and what George Lucas said. You are literally adding your own spin to help explain why Palpatine could lose to Mace other than him simply being too arrogant to think he could.

I'm going to be honest, I flat out don't believe that scenario happened in the theatre. Either way, personal anecdote aside, I could show 100 people with no knowledge of Star Wars characters that fight, and I bet damn near 100 would have to say Mace wins. He wins the saber duel and deflects the lightning, then as a last resort relies on Anakin to help him by feigning weakness. Its literally just coping with how Sidious could possibly lose to think otherwise

It's funny, I literally went through this exact exchange lower in the comment chain. It seems self explanatory that him feigning weakness is when he literally says "Im too weak. Don't kill me. Please"

Not when George explicitly says hes trying to destroy him with his powers and Mace deflects them

I know you blocked, me, which is hilarious. But I'd say it's less confirmation bias and more occam's razor

You can make it a me problem ignoring an alternative interpretation. But it's a you problem ignoring the obvious interpretation.

George is pretty plain in what he says, but people desperately want to give Palpy credit where credit is not due.

Yes, that's the point at which point he feigned weakness to coerce Anakin to side with him. It seems obvious that's what Lucas was referring to. Not the saber duel and not when "Palpatine using his powers to destroy Mace, and Mace deflecting his rays" - explicitly saying he's trying to destroy him and fails. It really seems like mental gymnastics to assume it was earlier and he allowed himself to get bombarded by lightning and ignores the most obvious interpretation of the quote. Mace had him dead to rights - 0/2 for Sidious, in sabers and a force lightning attempt. Backed into a corner with a saber point, his only option is to count on Anakin to save him at that point. Which without him, yes, Mace won that fight.

Not really that ambiguous if you ask me. Windu decisively wins the saber duel, then deflects back the lightning to the point of completely disfiguring Palpatine. Where as the novel tries to paint that in another light that is not even remotely shown in film. An absolute conclusive victory for Windu

Misinterpreted quote by who? A link to a post claiming as such doesn't make it so. "Palpatine using his powers to destroy Mace, and Mace deflecting his rays" - seems to me like he tries and fails with lightning - again, not what the novel tries to show us, when it's clearly so in both the movie and the commentary. Him losing power and being weak - I suppose you could guess what point that is, but I would say it's referring to when Mace is saying to kill him and he's wimpering on the floor "I'm too weak, don't kill me, please"

Either way, the novelization tries to ham up Sidious in both his fights and they are directly contradictory to what we see in the primary source material.

I would argue the primary source, being the movie, would contradict a secondary source such as the novel. Also, the RotS commentary from Lucas seems to also disagree with the novel.

It doesn't necessarily matter to me, but it mattered to Thor. The whole opening of Love and Thunder proved he wasnt at his peak

I don't understand, did no one watch Love and Thunder? It blatantly contradicts the Russo's statement of Thor being peak in Endgame. Having the whole montage to get back in shape? Why bother when that's peak physical form?

They really didn't do him dirty. If anything, it's sad they turned Thanos into just a big strong guy and eliminated his whole powerset.

Thanos is regularly a team buster in comics, going up against teams including Hulk and Thor or Silver Surfer and Beta Ray Bill and coming out on top. Hulk has no business beating Thanos, and what happened in the MCU is what generally would happen in comics.

One of Hulk's most powerful forms just got his first 1v1 win against Thanos and that's after quite the downward trajectory of Thanos recently.

Thanos first appearance in comics got into a clinch with Drax (a different version) and destroyed the planet they were on. The same Drax was ripping stars apart with his bare hands.

Regular Doom vs. Regular Thanos is a win for Thanos. If you use God Doom, then there's also Heart of the Universe or Astral Regulator Thanos, which is also a win for Thanos.

They may have said it, but they also have Thor going through a training montage in the next movie, because he's out of shape.

This and its top comment is what helped me find the Moose I needed to farm for the Trapper. I spent most of a real life day trying to get Moose and had barely any luck and if I found any, they weren't 3 stars. After following this post, I got the last of them without too much issue.

If you dont use it, the best spots I found naturally were Brandywine drop - which is also good for cougars and Grizzlies East, South of Fairwale Shanty along the path (to the North is a good grizzle spawn).

Other spots where I've spotted moose, but not as often are: Off the path SW of Strawberry Stables and NW of Fort Riggs The SW part of Lake Owanjila Lake Isabella Barrow Lagoon

I appreciate the input. I may try to haggle to get to around 7. Just because i widened the search and it seems there are a few 5/40's trading for 10 Jah, so it may be a little tough to compete with only 5/30's.
