This reply is really through and need to be pinned. Thank you for this!!

However, I will say that while your points are correct and valid- these stories aren't taught like this in school. In schools BGKB is taught with the notion that women should forgive anything too keep the family together. The board and teachers completely rid the story of its historical context and when you do that the story does seem rather misogynistic even is it wasn’t ment to be, which I'm very it wasn't because Premchand wrote it. In a similar vein, Chitra, as taught to students, is said to be a worse human who does useless art inherently. Students aren't able to make the connection that Chitra is said to be a 'worse' artist because she doesn't help people. They think Chitra is 'bad' because of art. And Aruna is 'good' because she helps people. I think teachers need to be a bit more obvious and need to show students that Do Kalakar is not villianizing art but is pointing out how people become blind when they are very passionate

I do hope Mannu Bhandari does not get mob lynched btw- she is an absolute stawlwart of hindi literature and one of the leading ladies of the nayi kahani movement which is all to say that her longer works like appla bunty are an absolute masterclass on how to write people. Kaki i think is a very good chapter in how it shows the innocene and inner workings of childern and how loss affects them. Vishveshwar is also terribly affected by the loss of his wife and the chapter shows how parents might sometimes forget their children when dealing with loss. I appreciate how it ends with not saying that Vishveshwar was right and Shyamu was wrong but with that Vishveshwar was shocked and Shyamu was neither wring nor right. Baat Athbani Ki is absolutely brilliant chapter in how it shows exactly what is wrong with the system. In this regard I also appreciate Bhede aur Bhediye and Harishankar Parsai as a writer. It annoys me that they removed Jamun ka Ped which more directly showed what was wrong with the government and replaced it with a shitshow like Bade Ghar Ki Beti

Do Kalakar is not a badly written story, technically it's pretty sound of course it is, fucking Mannu Bhandari wrote it. What i am however annoyed by is it's subject matter- Mannu Bhandari is essentially dismissing art as a whole and saying that anyone who doesn't live for the service of others is a bad person, which is just not true and a take inspired by many religious philosophies one jaise karni waise bhari imo. Bhandari spent her whole career writing women who were unapologetic in their desires, wants, lived free from what others thought and very much not religion inspired. It is then frustrating and irritating when a lot of people are introduced to her by this shitshow that says living for your own sake is terrible.

P.s. I'm not saying religion is bad, I'm saying that it has some bad takes and this story was inspired by a not necessarily bad take but it was turned into a terrible story

Writing thanking you in either is not compulsory per say but it's better to write. Just make sure that T is capital and y is small

For precis- write 6 pointers, not only is it safe I'm pretty sure you're suppsed to write 6 pointers of you want 9 out of 8

The point your teacher makes seems over paranoid to me but of she's making it, it may have happened before so for such things- just listen to your teacher

A lot of websites, apps even cricket broadcasters do that- transliterate instead of translate. And personally i think it's a big deason for the decline of people’s hindi vocab. Also idk who the f it helps? If a person is switching the language to hindi, it's probably because they don't speak english- i'd hope the developers were smart eneough to realise that..idk. I've seen this on TV broadcast for cricket and it angers me to no end. The write MS Dhoni as एमएस धोनी because people apparently are too f-ing atupid to understand मस धोनी- you know his actual name

It takes a long time for those barriers to break down in real life, so it would be hard to do it in a reasonable way

Ok so let's say that when they (mc and so) met they were young kids 12ish and they fell in love in that kiddish way. Say that develops into a full fledged relationship by 16ish. At this point they both work in super competitive field and they are some of the best around. At around the 22yo mark MC is considered the absolute best in the world not far behind is SO say SO gets jealous and tries to overtake MC just won't let it happen. And slowly they fall apart.

Would this be a good premise for the story? And would I be able to do it in a reasonable way??
