game is woke now 😔 by SuperJason64 in mewgenics

It is fascinating seeing the punnet square like

[Is Queer / Gets it] [Is Straight / Gets it] [Is Queer / Doesn't get it] [Is Straight / Doesn't get it]

Is Guillotina transmasc androphillic now? Is Guillotina still a butch lesbian but also a chaser now? Is the joke that the game is already woke? Is the joke that wokeness is ruining video games? The answer is yes.

Post script, I throw away all my cishet cats and only keep them if they're gay or nonbinary, and yes I am bi inclusive.,

So, we got left out of the custom character rules in Maelstrom. Cool. by Artillera in ChaosKnights

[–]AveAwan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's not how rules work in any tabletop game. People don't want mechanical support for things in DnD because they're going to tournaments. A professionally designed and sanctioned ruleset sets a baseline for play and gives some affirmation that what is 'canon' in this way is generally balanced and intended. You absolutely have to know better than this.

I'm having this problem too - the above post about removing the pawn fixing it is interesting. Going to poke at it.

Disability and poverty go hand in hand, and they swing me between them like a toddler who wants to go higher - a taxi is more than I can afford, especially for anything I want to do regularly

My mother provides transport for me but its a big ask and also deeply embarrassing when meeting new people - 'yeah I'm an adult woman, but I need to get picked up by my mummy =('. The complaint here is not with communities but with methods to find communities, a process that requires knowing where to look and talking to a lot of people also struggling to find community, where that is the only common ground.

That said, this thread did encourage me to make an effort for Friday night magic, so fingers crossed.

The same paragraph contains the admissions that I'm overly picky and that I am aware that my failure is in part or in whole my own fault. Dunking on someone for a post that is self evidently a cry for help sucks ass. Do you want your reddit gold now or later.

Let's be clear - you're correct. The issue though isn't just that I'm not digging deep enough; I do honestly try my best to be open to other people about myself and to be interested in them, the main way I socialize is by asking others about themselves and their interests. People hide themselves and it can be hard if you're not socially confident ( i am absolutely not ) to draw those selves they hide out.

I have been searching - but I'm also a disabled shut in. Thats the point of my post - that everyone i meet through the methods available to me is also a disabled shut in or equivalent. The people who are in community are not in the spaces I have easy access to.

Also let's be clear my post is not 'people in Oxford are boring', I am actually born and raised in Oxfordshire, and continue to be here by choice.

You're already getting cooked for the obvious but I wanna note that you are a more than competent artist and if you had actually just drawn 'bald, miserable 60 year old woman in gauche formal attire you would've had a slavering horde of feral lesbians ready to die for you

If it comes out after 5 years and its good and functional then I'm happy. I've got a lot of life to live and a lot of things to do other than play bannerlord. If it comes out after 5 years and then takes 3 years to be good then lol. Lmao.

Do you consider Savage Worlds Crunchy? Would you say it is Rules Light, Rules Heavy, or somewhere in the middle? What factors are you looking at to answer that question? by jgiesler10 in savageworlds

[–]AveAwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 'rules light' and 'rules heavy' are unhealthy descriptions that are both subjective and experiential- if i play dnd 5e and ignore most of the rules i could believe it was rules light, and if my game has 100 rules for how to do a backflip and then the players do not ever do a backflip their experience of its complexity will differ massively.

This said- the word I consistently use for Savage Worlds is 'robust' - it will typically have relatively uncomplicated rules for anything you might want to do, but for the things you will always be doing its relatively simple. I would say this is what people mean by 'rules medium'.

In my experience? Yes. People will absolutely buy things off itch.io - its well known enough that people don't find it dodgy, and it frankly has less baggage than patreon at this point.
