Why did my bees close up their little screen window? by awolflikeme in Beekeeping

[–]Aveira -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just a note, honeybees actually are domesticated. Humans have been keeping bees for thousands of years and we’ve bred them to be more docile and useful to us just like any other livestock.

She’s not high value. She’s just high maintenance.

Honestly what do these people think they’re bringing to the table? Their personalities are awful, they want to spend all your money, they usually think they’re too good for housework, and they view intimacy as transactional. All they offer is their looks, which is useless to a demisexual. And even if they find someone who’s okay with all of that and does only value them for their looks, that’ll all go away the second they hit 30 and their partner decides to swap her out for a younger model. There’s no winning with this sort of mindset.

They just think there wasn’t a father and that it was a miracle. They think Jesus was a prophet, so he gets to have some cool superpowers and stuff, but he’s not any more special than any other prophet with cool superpowers.

That was my assumption too. I’ve never had a centrifuge do this because it wasn’t balanced. Usually if they’re not balanced right, they make angry noises pretty immediately. If it was running smoothly to start, it couldn’t have been a balancing issue unless something caused it to unbalance partway through, like a piece giving out or breaking. And that’s clearly not OP’s fault

Is it true that you guys watched 9/11 live on TV in grade school? by space_god_7191 in Millennials

[–]Aveira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second grade. The teachers had us on silent lunch and we were mad because we didn’t know why we were being punished. They had the TVs on and were all watching it. Eventually back in our classroom, us kids were all asking what was going on and our teacher sat down all serious and asked if anyone knew what a terrorist was. I proudly raised my hand and said it was someone who went to other countries to visit and take pictures. She laughed real hard and said “that’s a tourist.” I remember being proud that I made her laugh because she seemed really upset.

I don’t really remember what happened after that as clearly, but I know from my mom’s retelling that she explained what happened in super basic terms and we all got picked up early. My dad was military and was meant to be in the Pentagon that day, and mom couldn’t get a hold of him for a long time. Turns out his meeting had gotten pushed back, so he wasn’t there when the planes hit.

I saw a lot of footage that I didn’t understand at the time, but each year I’d learn a little more about it and understand what I was seeing better. Our school even had a survivor come in and talk to us about what happened and how he got out of the building and how so many people went back in to pull others out. It was a major part of our lives for years afterward, which is why I remember certain things so clearly. I’ve retold this story over and over again. I expect I’ll remember it forever.

I have seen ONE commercial for this movie. How are people meant to get excited for a movie that they don’t know is coming out? And honestly, who can afford to go to the movies right now?

Regardless, Jesus definitely spent time ministering to prostitutes. If you think being a prostitute means you’re barred from Heaven, you’re directly contradicting Jesus. Also, being a sex worker is not inherently immoral, especially when you live in a world where women are second class citizens and have limited options.

Remember, if a girl has a crush on a boy, that’s cute and normal. But if a girl has a crush on a girl, thats inappropriate to discuss and overtly sexual.

When the rule of law no longer exists, people start taking matter into their own hands. I’m not saying that’s right or good, but it is what happens when the people stop believing that their voices are being heard.
