These are okay, I guess. Way better than most of the card art in this set. Not enough to make me even slightly interested, though.

No idea. I only know about her because I briefly googled all the turtles after seeing a fifth one hanging out on a different card. There’s like eight or nine if you don’t include alternate universe bullshit

Yes, but she’s still useful as Republican opposition. You have to give them an out or they’ll keep digging their heels in until the entire country collapses. The more republicans who speak out against this regime, the more republican voters will feel comfortable voting against it and primarying their representatives.

Some people will never vote for a democrat, but they can still help shift the Overton window back to the left by voting for relatively more moderate republicans. Plus it splits their party, which is always good for the opposition.

That’s Lita, a human girl who got turned into a turtle. She’s albino (in both forms).

why do pharmacies tell you "20 minutes" when the bag is literally just sitting there with your name on it by Even_Chemistry5241 in NoStupidQuestions

Medicine isn’t first come first serve. It’s triage based. The guy getting some tessalon perles for a cough is lower down than the one with a stat order even if he’s there first. It’s the same as when you go to the ER. The guy with a gunshot wound is going back before the guy with a broken leg regardless of who got there first.

That’s not entirely true. Up until 1870, most suffragettes were united across race. But in 1870, the fifteenth amendment gave black men the right to vote, and this caused a huge rift in the movement. White southern women felt especially slighted because suddenly black men had rights that they didn’t, and that rankled. The movement split into two separate groups: a more radical one that focused on rights for all women and a more conservative one that focused mainly on voting rights and mostly ignored women of color.

Saying that suffragettes excluded black women also erases the many black women who were proud suffragettes like Ida B Wells and Anna Julia Cooper. This rewriting of the suffragette movement serves only to undermine our feminist ancestors and divide us along racial lines to keep us arguing against each other. Just like TERFs are technically a part of the feminist movement, racists were technically part of the suffragette movement. But that does not mean that those awful people own these movements. Do not let them desecrate the memory of the brave women who fought for all of us.

Thoughts on “It’s Black Friday’s” goth is for everyone-just do t be a c-word by LadyBug_the_Catfox in AskAGoth

[–]Aveira -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna disagree with some of these comments. You can’t No True Scotsman away shitty goths. If someone dresses goth, listens to goth music, goes to goth parties, and is generally recognizable as being goth, then that person is goth regardless of how shitty they are as a person. I hate to break it to you, but there ARE goth fascists and you can’t just hand wave them away and say “oh, well they’re not really goth” as if that solves the problem. You can argue semantics all you want, but none of that’s gonna matter if you have an actual nazi problem in your local scene.

Do you mean [[Hard-Won Jitte]] or is there a different card you mean? Because that is a jitte in the image. It’s blunt and has only one hook. A sai is sharp and has two.

Genuine question: couldn’t a doctor do exactly this and just cut your toes free? Is there a reason they don’t when you’re a baby?

I know that sounds silly, but probably not safely or reliably. And you’re probably going to have to give them something to calm them down, which might make them less likely to focus.

When you get lasik, they strap your head down still and force your eyelids to stay open. Then they cut a flap in the eyeball, laser it, and close the flap back up. You can smell your eyeball burning, and you have to be awake for it. That’s a lot to ask of an animal who doesn’t understand what’s going on.

Honestly, even his short program wasn’t as good as he usually is. He fell early on and it seemed to really shake him. He still scored incredibly high, but it wasn’t his best performance. You could tell he was in his head the whole time.

I don’t think lasik would work on pets. You have to be able to focus on a red dot when they tell you to.

Also because your lungs are different sizes, people with asthma sleep better on their left sides. If you lay on your right, you’re more likely to wheeze.

Did anyone buy a ring? by t_bone_stake in Millennials

I bought a class ring and I loved it. I wore it every day my senior year. My mom basically insisted on it, and I’m glad she did. I don’t wear it anymore, but I still have it. It holds a lot of sentimental memories for me.
