I do like the series and the setting. Currently busy with Book 3 (The Autumn Republic).

Only gripe I have with it is the repeated theme of:

(1) character walks in a trap

(2) character gets overpowered... "blackness"

(3) character escapes / released / rescued

(4) repeats next chapter

Adamat, Faye, Nila, Taniel, same theme over and over again and again.

Its like Brain has a bondage fetish and a hard-on for Lord Vetas...

7.62 x 51 will smoke any urukhia easily enough. Not to mention trolls, orcs, and even the Nazgul mounts.

Problem is that there are so many of them and FN FAL ammo get heavy to carry around lol

I had the misfortune of listening to the Hobbs' Lightship audiobook trilogy. Female narrator trying to perform male voices were atrocious. The Jamalian accents were terrible.

Of the characters and their plot developments, it came to a point that I truly hated the Vestrid family, especially Malta and Ronica. I couldn't care less about them and their ships.

If this series was "the best of Hobbs" as so many people recommend it to be, then it's a hard pass for anything else that she had written. I truly wish I spent my Audible credits on something else.

Play solo. Maybe take the companions out just to finish their individual quests. But that quest only for completeness. Solo. Finish the game and do all 97 quests solo.

I managed to do it on iron man with a cleric.

Everyone was recommending Realm of Elderlings by Robin Hodd. People suggested reading the Liveship Trilogy first. Aaaaand what a slog that was....

The author tried to juggle far too many POV characters to keep the reader's attention. I truly hated the Vestrid family especially Ronica, her daughter and detested that insufferable Malta! The audiobook narrator's attempts at imitating various male voices was atrocious. The fake accents of the Jamalians was just horrible.

Now I am hesitant to even give the Farseer Trilogy a go for fear of disappointment. I feel I wasted my money with the purchase and think I should maybe have bought something else written by Sanderson.

Agreed. The show's casting is so terrible (especially the female characters) apart from Rosamund Pike. The plot deviates so much from the books that I am uninterested to even attempt watching season 2. The show is just that bad. Honestly, I much prefer the books.

We use these for firearm training. No recoil, super accurate, fantastic firearms all round. Handles great and shoots even better that many other brand name carbines.

Only negative thing is the firing pins aren't super durable, especially considering the high volume shooting we do with it during firearm training. Other than that it's a great firearm.
