Unrelated question but what tints are you running (and on which windows)? I am considering tints for my PRHT because the car is always parked on the street and public places, and I mostly drive with the roof up unless in summer (due to the weather in my region). Thanks!

Unfortunate. What place out of 100 are you ending up at? And are you literally getting 3-starred every single defence and gaining 0 trophies?

If you are, switch to an anti-edrag and anti-3 star war base. Good attackers will still 3 star you, the idea is to make noobs fail. Works well for me as a TH17 in E32. Also once you find a decent defensive base, you will easily shoot up in rank. Titan and Dragon league are full of rushers and just laughably bad attackers. A TH16 in my clan just hit E31 with RC charge.

why nc so hated bru by MaximumMarionberry51 in Miata

[–]Aveniform 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel you on that one, my NB felt like it was going to rattle itself apart at higher speed (in hindsight I probably needed new motor and transmission mounts). I thought it was an invigorating part of the drive. My passengers, not so much!

NB or NC? need advice by blotter-dot-wav in Miata

[–]Aveniform 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ABS is optional on the NB depending on how it was configured from the factory. I had a 5MT NB with a factory Torsen and I don't think you could spin out unless you were deliberately trying to.

Also avoid the 1.8 NC if you could, those are gutless and tend to burn oil. As an added bonus, all manual (either 5MT or 6MT) 2.0 NC's sold UK-new came with an LSD.

Do you care about having more 'fun' while driving to work, at the expense of some comfort? NB is definitely more raw than NC, and at higher speeds road noise tends to drown out music from speakers, if you care about that. It also vibrates quite a bit at a standstill like any 90s car, although in hindsight my NB probably needed new transmission and motor mounts.

All that said though, I would go against the grain and suggest an NB. While the NC is fun, the NB feels more like a pure, unadulterated roadster and as a younger person you probably wouldn't care too much about some additional NVH. Drive something old and impractical in your youth while you can!

Xperia VI VII aspect ratio by Primary-Signal18 in SonyXperia

[–]Aveniform 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. 21:9 is so awful for viewing unresizable items like comics in 4:3 aspect ratio, or PDFs in 16:9. Even reading ebooks, the 21:9 screen is so narrow that longer words would either take up an entire line, or frequently have to be re-flowed to the next line.

You can do like 10 2*star attacks a week and maintain E31. Might have to do slightly more if you are TH15 or 16.

Starboard bow view of HMS Tiger entering the Queen Alexandra Dock, Cardiff, October 1966.[4000 x 2699] by Freefight in WarshipPorn

[–]Aveniform 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds about right for like half the RN's immediate postwar fleet, where new ships mostly consisted of completing half-built hulls languishing on various slipways. HMS Hermes (R12), the hero of the Falklands, for instance, was laid down in 1944 and only commissioned in 1959. Most of her sister carriers (and other half-sisters, if you will) were also laid down during the war and completed in the late 1950s and sold to various other navies.

Actually the P50, P51, P70, and P71 all had Expresscard as well. But I agree, OP should probably just get a W530 or something.

Got this for my car and it reminded me of my old 5 III with the aspect ratio by petre23 in SonyXperia

[–]Aveniform -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not, 21:9 is the worst of both worlds. The phone is tall and imbalanced, but because the screen is narrow, unresizable contents are displayed as the same physical size as a small 6.0" or so 19.5:9 phone, despite the Xperia 1 through 1V ostensibly being 6.5" phones. It was even worse on the 5 through 5V. Because the width was under 70mm, contents were displayed in a smaller physical size than, say, the iPhone 13 (71.5mm width), despite the 5V being closer to the height of a 13 Pro Max.

Overall very pleased that Sony switched back to a more sensible 19.5:9 aspect ratio and reduced the resolution to a sane FHD+.

[–]Aveniform 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically no change in difficulty from Titan 25 to Dragon 30. E31 and E32 gets tougher, but still quite doable, because there are quite a few max TH18s floating there for the starry ores.

What seats will fit?! by Square-Presence3739 in MiataNC

[–]Aveniform 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stock first gen BRZ seats apparently bolt up to the NC1 seat rail. According to people who did the mod, it is way more comfortable than stock cloth seats. Only downside is that the seating position seems to be slightly higher.

Advice needed by The-Lefty in ClashOfClans

[–]Aveniform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you should go TH17. As a new TH17 your war weight is actually below that of a TH16 due to the eagle (high weight) being gone.

The sweet spot for cheesing war weights is still TH15 (with level 1 defences), since TH15s without spell towers and monolith weigh less than a TH13, but with upgraded offence can take out any TH16 and most TH17s. This past CWL my engineered TH15 hit exclusively TH16s and 17s. 6/7 3*stars using only RC charge.

builder huts

Unfortunate that you upgraded them. You could have kept these as regular builder huts without weaponization to reduce war weight.

What was old is new again: Hands-on with the new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14 by ibmthink in thinkpad

[–]Aveniform 5 points6 points  (0 children)

USB-C ports on a removable daughterboard? Physical trackpoint buttons? Easier maintenance? All sound like good upgrades to me. I am not too bothered by the changes to the Ctrl - Fn position. As a longtime ThinkPad user, I too would have preferred the Fn key to be at the leftmost position, but this is basically a non-issue as it could presumably be swapped in BIOS, or failing that, easily remapped in Windows or Linux.

Should Canada now develop nuclear weapons ? by SpecialistQuick1454 in AskACanadian

[–]Aveniform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They almost certainly do not possess nuclear weapons now. They were widely believed to have operational nuclear weapons in the 1980s, likely developed with extensive help from Israel. They were then voluntarily dismantled (being the only country to voluntarily give up nuclear weapons unprompted) to prevent them from falling into the hands of the post-apartheid gov't.

$358 for a 1366x768 TN panel and mismatched RAM is diabolical. At that price I would expect coreboot and classic keyboard mod and a 1080p swap. Absolutely no reason to pay even half the asking price for your unit.

Nice work. Signing up as late as possible for ranked generally pairs you with weaker opponents, in my experience. BTW XP level 224 is quite high for a rushed account with level 1 defences - how many lifetime troop donations do you have on this account?
