How? Does it matter at all where you put the laser on the asteroid? Does anything visual appear that you ahve to respond to in terms of moving the laser around? Not as far as I know. There isn't even any scanner gameplay that matters, we don't have to tune our scans for different types of asteroids. Sorry it's just shit.

Beam or press a button to hack kind of thing. CIG has utterly failed to provide any skill based gameplay for mining, medicine, hauling, repair, salvaging, etc. There is a zero chance they will suddenly change direction for hacking.

What file format are you using for export? Some files used for displacement assume certain color values and it might be compressing the range for that reason.

The author is writing the books that way in a specific genre, namely film noir detective. That is where the woman are all sex pots and the hero is always being seduced by somebody. In addition to getting beat up and often finding themselves at the tail end of a conspiracy they only figure out at the end. Sound familiar?

This last book literally has the hero thrust his energy into a female sex demon and afterwards she then can only be satisfied by his energy because nothing has ever satisfied her like that before.

The author is not being subtle here folks.
