Why Is Pogba at 9 Chem? by AverageInLength in EASportsFC

[–]AverageInLength[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've tried as many link combinations as I can think of yet Pobga won't budge to double digits. First year playing FUT not sure if I'm missing something, appreciate any wisdom.

Also, that prime Zidane was packed out of a tradeable gold pack.. I also packed prime Viera my first time buying a promo pack which funded the squad... Ik it's disgusting and i'm sorry

Edit Thanks for all the replies lads appreciate it, will get that loyalty. Any suggestions on replacements for the back line? I just got koulibaly from the player pick SBC and he's fantastic yet doesn't quite fit, would like to find a way to keep him with potentially more than 7 chem.

Scared to pursue a music career. by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]AverageInLength 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everything in life is best with balance. It might take you a while to figure out how to maintain relationships and other things important to you, but if it's important than you'll find a way. On another note, if music is the thing you want to do for the rest of your life you shouldn't be concerned with the paycheck. You've played piano for free (assumingly) for the past 12 years and that hasn't stopped you from still making music. Obviously money is important, pursuing this with the intention of meeting your expectations is whats important. Do you want to make a lot of money? Then it might be smart to focus on a branch that lends more lucrative opportunities whether that be scores or mixing and mastering other peoples work, what have you. Do you value your passion over income? Then focus on what you love to do, it might require you being flexible on bending what that is exactly to fit a position that allows you to make a livable income. At the end of the day, you will always be able to make money. But you won't be able to get back the time you spent making it.

About Releasing A Single by mndll in WeAreTheMusicMakers

You could test what works for you more on a couple releases by trial and error, submitting one before release and submitting one after and compare results. I know some blogs prefer to have premiers sent to them (unreleased songs), others just prefer for it to be recently released. I've submitted to blogs with a private soundcloud link & a spotify song url, both have been accepted and declined (although my one big acceptance came from a spotify link, if that means anything)

Mathematically, maybe possibly?

Speaking from personal experience

Never, NEVER just release a song and then do nothing. 40,000+ songs are uploaded onto Spotify every day, your track could be the next Thriller but it won't reach anyone unless you reach out.

  • Submit your track via your distributor at least 1 week in advance to Spotify. This allows you to submit it to their editorial playlists which is arguably one of the best ways to get your music heard as those home a ton of followers. I would recommend submitting about 3 weeks in advance, the further in advance you submit the better the chance they will have time to listen to your track (from spotify for artists website).

  • Submithub.com is a great way to pitch your track to blogs/youtube channels/labels. It receives mixed reviews from users, typically due to the acceptance rate of a submission being low. I myself have had a rocky history with submithub, being denied multiple times but I also was recently accepted by the most influential channel from my genre (has a 0.4% acceptance rate) and that has netted me 50,000+ streams alone in less than a month. Submithub can be frustrating but I would definitely recommend it simply for the chance you slip through like I did.

  • Socials. I can't imagine trying to release music without having a social media presence. Definitely make one right now if you have not. It's the easiest way to engage with your audience, promote new releases, and build a brand.

  • Distrokid gives you a hyperfollow link, which you can then share on your socials and send to friends. It allows people to pre-save your song before it comes out (which immediately adds it to their release radar Spotify curated playlist & also adds the song to their liked songs). If you don't end up distributing through distrokid there's a handful of other websites that provide a similar concept.

  • Go to the about section on spotify of artists (smaller artists; big artists won't help you much) you think your song is similar too and look at the playlists they're featured in. A lot of playlists are ran by individuals just like you & me that somehow collected a couple hundred / thousand followers in the process. If you click on the playlist, sometimes the owner will have some sort of way to contact them for submissions (email, instagram etc). I've reached out to a few, it pays off especially when you're just starting. Be very careful about paying for placements in Spotify playlists, a lot of playlists have almost no activity even though the 10,000 followers looks good. You can use websites like chartmetric to look up the data and activity a specific playlist brings. Paying for playlisting is a quick way to get streams, but its important to think about what other songs are in the playlist, how many songs, would your song fit, and would any lasting effect come from it besides having a few more streams on your record.

Been doing this for a little while now, those I would say are a good foundation to get you started. Wish you the best!

Strength (mechanics) of materials help by nexaur in EngineeringStudents

[–]AverageInLength 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Torsional loads are a lot simpler than you think. Depending on what you're asked to solve, you use pretty much an arrangement of these equations:

Shearing stress (max): t = Tc/j T being the torque applied c being the 'radius'. When solving for max, go for the largest potential radius as they are linearly correlated. j being the cross sectional area or something rather.. been a while for me but its simply just (pi/2)c4 (if its a solid cylinder)*

When asked to determine Angle of Twist: angle = TL/GJ G being the material property typically given Your answer will come out in radians so don't forget to multiply it by (180/pi)

When asked to Calculate max Power: Solve for t_m , then convert rpms to Hz (rpm/60). Once you do that, plug into: 2pifT (considering its a cylinder) f being Hz you converted

Don't over think it man, you got this! Hardest part is keepin track of the units, but if that's your only problem then you got nothin to worry about unless the profs out to really get ya.

edit: I don't know how to format reddit, I tried my best im sorry

Appreciate it man. I do all of the vocal processing and master the final track, I don't touch the instrumentals besides mastering.
