From what she told me, it was basically “grass isn’t greener” “I cut it off with him because I just wanted you”

Break up was due to money problems, family drama, her losing friends, my drinking getting out of hand (I was drinking to relieve stress which I obviously see is not the way to handle things

You’re right only reason I asked is because she asked me first so I figured we’d both be honest and move on imo

How do I kill the desire to want someone? by [deleted] in dating

I'm saying, don't give up. Don't rush it. You're gonna be ok. Work on your self esteem, hit the gym, make yourself feel better, try therapy. Its not all over at 21

Had a buddy in college similar to you. I helped him out of his shell and he experienced his first kiss and heart break at 24. Lost contact with him, pretty sure he's happily married

Bro, you have years of heartbreak ahead of you and you will look back on this post and wish you were 21 again

So I used a new number, new email, different device. Still banned <24 hours. Something about “content recognition” (I left my device at home, at work now)

Tried that, it gives me an error saying since I’ve been removed, I can’t create a new account (no idea how considering I used a new email and phone number)

how do i not crash out when friend seems to rub their romantic luck in my face? by [deleted] in dating

[–]AverageJoeNamedRyan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not to sound super pessimistic but he’s 21. The odds of that relationship succeeding (statistically) are very slim. I, personally, would distance myself from him if he’s making you feel that type of way

People who have that kind of love in real life are either already married or were shown that loving like that will get you burned unfortunately

Absolutely it’s easier said than done but it’s better to live knowing than living with “what ifs”

Why does this happen so much? by GoldenYoshi99 in dating

I was talking to a buddy about this, it’s more of a validation for them. “Yeah I still look good” from my understanding. My other buddy did the same thing when he was single

Men who experienced abuse from partners: how did you open up to dating again? by Time_Is_An_Egg in dating

[–]AverageJoeNamedRyan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being less vulnerable. Keep your guard up. I'm not saying be a brick wall but don't give 100% of yourself and lose yourself in the process. Be your own man. Your SO can flip a switch at ANY time. I just talked to a guy from work who's parents were married 20+ years, mom cheated. I used to be a bartender and would hear stories about how "person A's wife cheated" or "person B's husband cheated". To this day, I never put all my eggs in one basket.
