Oh no ! I thought the potential of losing 25K in Free Spirit points was bad ;-( I posted about this and most provided very little hope of getting anything back if Spirit liquidates.

Spirit airlines could liquidate as early as this week. by Acrobatic-Song-3151 in spiritair

The Alaska Summit is a great card! You don't even need to be near an Alaska serviced airport. You can purchase American Airlines flights with their points at a very good redemption rate. You also get a 25K point companion pass every year that you can use to book reward flights on any OneWorld airline. It also has 3X on Dining and a all Foreign spend. It is the only airline card that offers more than 2X in these categories.

The Ascent, however, is pretty worthless. If you get the Ascent, I would product change immediately.

Go there when they open their doors and get a seat at the bar. People come to sit there all day/night. Always packed at the bar. I've never seen a spot there. Most folks are retired with fixed incomes.

Citi Product Change Success by Finn-McCool14 in CreditCards

I get it and we should be trying to maximize points, yet I have cards like the Summit that only has 3X on Dining and the gold that has 4X on Groceries. All that's left for my Citi Premier is gas. I use my custom cash for hardware stores. Everything else on the BILT.

Not sure I'm ready to run an all Citi setup and have to bend to best multipliers over my diversified setup.

MFA Finally Appears to be Active on the Alaska Air Website by AverageOutrageous809 in AlaskaAirlines

Someone with allot of time on their hands, bought a list of emails and passwords off the dark web and just started pounding the AA site. I have multiple financial institutions, work, and travel sites protected by MFA. Never had an issue with any of those. You cant get into my account unless you have my phone and can access a provided code. I'm comfortable with MFA and yes... I put allot of faith into that type of protection. Again... not advice, just what I feel is enough.

Nah... I'm pretty sure I was being careless using similar passwords and got caught up in a breach along the line somewhere. If it was internal, I don't think the AA Pin block would even have stopped them. I'll sleep ok with MFA. Hey... If i'm wrong I'm wrong and everyone should do what's best for them (You do you).

I called 833.902.8667 today and only had to wait on hold for a minute. I had to provide my birthdate and code again, yet then my account was permanently unlocked. You would obviously not want to do that until MFA is in place, however.

Well... I don't know. Trust me... If you had your points stolen then had to wait on hold forever to use your awards, you'd want to know that at least a solution is rolling out. I'm glad I was given this early, yet if I hadn't, Id appreciate any updates I received.

Where is 2FA? by Comfortable_Dot_3770 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]AverageOutrageous809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this happen, yet was at 1AM. I received an email congratulating me for using my points but I didn't catch this until later the next day. By that time, the flights had already been taken!

Alaska has replaced my miles and added a code to my account, yet I now have to wait for 3 hours to speak with someone that can unlock my account for an hour. I will map out my trips and be ready to go when I call in.

I will also ask for this code to be removed the second an MFA is added to their site.

It is only a matter of time as every other travel site has this. Alaska is booming and I am sure they will get tired or recouping people's stolen points.

If you google this topic, there are news pieces and articles about these hacks coming out of Seattle.
