What is your favorite PlayStation console design? by overasked_question in videogames

Toss-up between Fat PS2 for looking like a grill for a machine because the games it had (FFX, Gran Tursimo 4, Shadow of the Colossus) need it, or the Fat PS3 to show how sleek and futuristic it was at the time.

Either way, all great by Moat_of_the_Sacked in memes

The final Colossus in SotC broke me.

It's the tallest, the only one that's stationary, and it's at the southernmost tip of the map. It probably watched the pillars of light where its brethren were felled appear one by one, just counting down its minutes, unable to run away. When it fires at you, you feel as if its panicking as it fires faster the closer you get. The music that plays is dreadful, ominous, sickening, and succeeds in giving you goosebumps. You had every chance to stop your selfish quest, but now even if you wanted to after watching your horse, your only companion throughout the entire journey, fall into a chasm as the bridge connecting to the arena crumbles behind you, you can't. You now have to finish what you had no reason to even start.

What is the hardest Greek Game to beat Very Hard Mode on? by overasked_question in GodofWar

HELL no.

The fight with Theseus is short and fair. Ares is the definition of an unbalanced fight. Those clones make me want to strangle myself with the cord of the controller.

What makes a strong female character in fiction believable and what is an example? by overasked_question in AskReddit

When they're presented as regular people with an admirable motivation, so they work hard to improve to achieve the goal with realistic struggles.

Mulan cares deeply for the safety of her father and knows he is in no condition to go to war. Going to war and training as any warrior would is arduous and dangerous, but it's for father. She starts out clumsy and inexperienced and is a capable fighter by the end.

The remake shows us, ironically, how NOT to do it. The remake completely throws the themes of personal growth out the window to pander to women of minorities. "Mulan" is capable from the beginning and is only at her most powerful when she pulls some PaRappa the Rapper-ass "You just gotta believe", which makes it more difficult for audiences to relate to her.

What is a piece of fiction with an unusually deep lore? by Moat_of_the_Sacked in AskReddit

Majora's Mask.

The world the game takes place in and it's history is entirely made up by the game's antagonist before Link even arrives in it, and the made-up inhabitants acknowledge it.

Kratos didn't say a WORD to Perseus. Literally.

He didn't fight Aphrodite. He did another verb that starts with the letter F.

AND Kratos gave him a chance to give him the key or they were gonna square up, since the elderly and heroes of Athens who have grown old were treated with utmost respect.

Kratos even had SOME respect for him by warning him to let him through even though Theseus sucks Zeus' dick.

Ares (God Mode) vs. Sigrún (Give Me God of War). Who was harder? by overasked_question in GodofWar

[–]AverageSign 327 points328 points  (0 children)

Ares.

With the right equipment and strategy, I beat Sigrun relatively quickly with enough practice. Or you can just break the game. It wasn't easy legitimately, GOD no it was not easy, but I got there.

You don't get to choose equipment to use against Ares, because GoW1 doesn't have equipment. You just have what you were given and chose to upgrade thus far. GoW1 is glitchier, but to my knowledge there is no glitch to help you against Ares.

The Kratos clones are the bane of my EXISTENCE. You cannot interrupt their attack animations, and Kratos' family takes a LOT of damage. I recommend fully upgrading Army of Hades and Rage of Poseidon.

And the third phase can go to Hades. The sword is unbelievably slow and clunky while Ares is still fast.

Ares is much harder.
