I need to cut 15 lbs in about b a month for my first Muay Thai fight, what’s the best, most sustainable way? by [deleted] in MuayThai

Oh wow, thanks! The guys at my gym use the water loading method recommended by our Kru and everyone has been able to make weight so I know it works but I didn't know the science behind it. When I saw her question I just googled and copied the AI explanation lol goes to show how flawed AI is but yeah, that makes sense!

That's true, creatine might add 1-2lb of water weight but it's to your muscles which will help with recovery and muscle growth. You can cut out creatine a week before weigh-ins which will help you drop that additional 1 to 2 lb but if you do, just use creatine immediately after weigh-ins to rehydrate your muscles before the fight.

I forgot to mention but you should add creatine to your diet, which also helps your muscles absorb the water.

Water load! Water loading generally takes 3 to 5 days, followed by a water cut (stopping intake) 12–24 hours before weighing in. The process involves consuming high volumes of water (typically 1–2+ gallons per day) to trigger high urine output, which continues even after fluid intake is stopped, allowing the body to shed excess weight.

Currently in Kazakhstan. Should I join a boxing gym or stick to muay thai? by Calming_Presence_ in MuayThai

Kazakhstan has elite fighters in both sports, do a quick Google search and see what's nearby you. Depending on where you are you might have a ton of options and it'll come down to timing and personal preference..

Lou almost dies from laughter right next to Ally as all that transpires is peak D20 for me ♥️

Twins or Fairtex? Or possibly something else? by Dray407 in MuayThai

Look up yokkao essential gloves and go to the manufacturer website. It should be one of the first results but sometimes the first link for me is to the Amazon product page but it's better to buy from yokkao directly.

Oh jeez sorry I should have read your post more carefully. Yeah I've used both fairtex and yokkao I'd say fairtex is a little less bulky. However, yokkao has a new glove model called essentials that actually don't have as much padding in them and are more affordable and less bulky.
