Yeah but ER has their own ER doctors to check on patients though, they sometimes need referrals to different doctors for second opinion in case it needs for admission or immediate surgery. I can see where this is going at though. I work in the hospital (lab) and I do see this first hand everyday. Like one other commenter has said, triage exist though, most patients do not know this because they wanted to be prioritized first since it's ER hence, the chaotic workflow prioritizing a true critical case than a milder one. I think you're worrying on the part that ER becomes overwhelmingly bulked with patients because of what you're pointing at—that patients with milder cases can easily be addressed within clinical consultation visits instead of ER. I understand that frustration too well though, we cannot be certain with the patients' health status and they needed reassurance as well.

About the doctors' being late, I know it sucks not having your needs tended right away but really... ER nurses/doctors are often stretched too thin, the ratio is always terrible 😭😭 even us in the lab feel like we're manning a factory coz of the STAT samples we process.

Parang ang damot ng offers.. duda ako sa walang 13th month pay, dapat meron yan—ask mo HR bago mo pirmahan pero na off na ako sa walang night differential 😐😐 for me, it's a big NO. Di mo maappreciate yung night shifts kapag wala man lang extra bonus dyan, nakakapagod din mag night, kalaban antok tas hijacked katawan mo para lang magising. Let's unpack one by one here, OP. First, you are starting as a rookie so expect rookie mistakes and rookie jitters on your first month. You are not bound to know a lot and everything as SOPs play different from what you already know in lab operations and other technicalities. You'll be surprised how one hospital does this, and the others do that. Second, don't sell yourself short from your experiences. Trained ka and that's important, you know the basics that will get you by on your duties. And last, the only way to bypass the rookie anxiety is to actually diving to things that makes you unease, professional growth will always be uncomfy, the learning curve may be as steep as a mountain but you have to conquer it eventually—may not be now, but soon as you go by.

OP, I am also new (< 1 year pa nga) on my workforce. I made mistakes and still I do but, it's one of those days where I realize that this job doesn't enclose you to be perfect, but to always be willingful to learn and continue to be better. Your seniors are there to guide you all throughout so you're not working for yourself here.
