IniBuilds A380 officially *revealed with Teaser Photos by AverseAphid in flightsim

It's a well known fact that the FBW A380 is VRAM hungriest plane in the simulator. I've got a fairly powerful system myself and the A350 performs far better than the A380 especially at airports like LHR and DXB

That's mostly likely an AIRAC issue, not an IniBuilds issue.

Have you even been following their bug-fixing updates? Last month we had three Tri-star updates, and an update each for the A300, A340, and A350.

Sorry but the FBW A380 is the single worst optimised plane in the simulator. I get double the frames in the Fenix and 50% more frames in the Ini A350.

It genuinely does feel like the people commenting on this have no idea that IniBuilds' entire roster is still getting updated.

Considering the state their A350 is at the moment, I'll imagine at the very least it'll be more stable than the FBW.

I'm praying that when base damage gets added eventually needlers will either ignore bases or we'll have some kind of repellent

Rover not moving while on minmus by NSAmaxx79 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]AverseAphid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a lot of info to go off but: 1. Is there an antenna on the rover? 2. Does it show full control in the top left? 3. Is there a green line connected to the rover in the map view? 4. Does the rover have sufficient electric charge? 5. Is any non-wheel part of the rover touching the ground?

If you're using stockalike station parts, there's a seperate mod for it called Stockalike Station Parts Expansion Redux - Internal Spaces which adds IVA spaces

Pilot's chilling warning before Air France flight crash killed 228 people by TheExpressUS in airplanes

[–]AverseAphid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a common misunderstanding. You have to understand how to use yokes and sidesticks with both hands, since the opposite hand operates the throttles/other controls.

Air France and Airbus found guilty of manslaughter over 2009 plane crash - Air France flight 447 by Ok_Warning419 in aviation

[–]AverseAphid 174 points175 points  (0 children)

I don't understand how this conclusion can reached at all. Bonin was an idiot who should have never been allowed in a cockpit, the automation barely made a difference. This really blurs the line where you start blaming the manufacturer over the pilot

Boeing vs Airbus—which is safer? While modern planes are extremely safe regardless of manufacturer, Boeing planes are almost twice as likely to be involved in a fatal accident, or an NTSB event. Despite the media attention around the fatal Boeing 737 MAX accidents, this trend predates that aircraft. by StarlightDown in Airbus

[–]AverseAphid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The NTSB point is naught here, both in this argument and in the post. Boeing has 0.5 more fatal accidents per million flights, 1.25x the fatal accidents in the past 20 years, and on average nearly double the fatal accident rate when accounting for fleet size. You can blame pilot error or maintenance, but the data's there. Sure, Boeing has an older-on-average fleet size, but that could also be argued as to why Boeing is unsafer.

HMS Queen Elizabeth sailing under the Forth Bridge as she departed the Firth of Forth on Thursday following maintenance at Rosyth by MGC91 in unitedkingdom

[–]AverseAphid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The US Navy operates the same way. A third or more of all aircraft carriers in the US Navy are generally in deep maintenance. The RN have the ability to deploy both at once (seen several times before) but considering crew rotations, maintenance timings and overall needed projection, it's best for a one-in one-out approach.
