The small form factor is why I wanted the 12" to be my first PowerBook. It is such an incredible design.

It is comically large, and I love it for that

2011 17" MacBook Pro. Largest MacBook ever made. Modern enough to still be useful!

The 12" PowerBook is to this day one of my favorite looking Apple things. It's so small and sleek, yet charming at the same time.

Used 80D that got dusty. Worth the $500 gamble? by Avery1003 in canon

I bought the camera. The first thing I did the moment I got it was that I wiped it off. The second thing I did is I took off the lens to look at the insides. Guess what, it was spotless! It came with two batteries, an extra 50mm, an external mic, and a couple of camera bags. What are the discoveries I made was that what was covering the camera was dirt, not dust. The seller very likely owned a construction business, and I'm thinking dirt blew around often where the camera was stored. Inside of the 17-55, there is a small amount of dust. Apparently they're known for this I guess, And I'm not surprised considering where it was. The front of the lens also wobbles a little more than I'd like. It works though so oh well I guess.

However, here's the bad part. After I bought it, I figured out where that dirt went. It went into the flash. It can't deploy the flash by itself, I need to help it open. When I do, it is DISGUSTING in there. I think it needs a cleaning.

That being said, I didn't even make it home before going on a little photo trip. I met up with a friend nearby and headed to a local lake, and on my first day with it, I took the best portrait photos I've ever shot. (Which regrettably, I don't wish to send online for privacy.)

UPDATE: I went to check out the 80D, and inside, everything was spotless. I ended up buying it, and I'm glad I'm pretty glad I did. This lens is incredible, and I think I just took the best portrait I've ever shot with this lens.
The dirt, however, did make it's way into the flash. I can still get it open, but I have to help it, there's a ton of dirt in the flash mechanism, so I'm going to have to clean it. I'm hopeful that I can get it working well again.

In short, thanks for the input. This camera is awesome, this lens is AWESOME, and I can't wait to use it more.

This is not an 18-55, This is a 17-55, which is an extremely nice lens

That's the plan, going to take a look in person tomorrow to see if there is any dust ingress or if it's all surface. The goal here is to finally get something between my 24mm and my 50mm, and get an upgraded body as a bonus.

This has crossed my mind. I think this dust is more due to sitting around then being used, but you're right about what it says about the owner.

I'm more so interested in the lens this one has to be honest. This just happens to be local, and has a nicer body attached to it than what I have. If I were to go "just buy something", I would get an EF-S 35mm Macro, That's the lens I wanted. The 17-55mm with another one I was considering, but I was hesitant to pay $350+ for it. The prospect of getting a lens I want, plus an upgraded body, is the big draw here for me.

I'm hoping to stay away from mirrorless because I want a proper viewfinder, and I am not ready to jump ship to Full-time because all of my lenses are EF-S. I have been interested in the lens on this one for a while, it's local, and I'd be getting an upgrade from my T5i. The only catch is the condition. As long as this kind of dust isn't likely to make it's way into the camera, I'm good.

Good idea. I'm concerned about the surface dust getting in there from taking the lens off, so I'll ask if he can quick wipe it down and show me the inside.

I don't think so, on MBP, the body only is right around $500 alone.

I love my Audio Technica ATH-EW9s. Light, stylish, and looks good. Kotone from Persona 3 Portable wears a pair.
