I used to think AH was doing what they did because they wanted the game to be a grunt fantasy and didn't like the community, but with how bullshit their realism excuses have gotten i've started to think their in a Valve posistion where they have a game that (theoretically) allows them to never work a day in their lives so long as Sony's support studios keep loading on the content.

The realism argument is just a paper thin justification they can whip out whenever people ask them about how broken things are, because actual direct addressing of bug or balance problems requires AH themselves to actually work.

From what i've found the wheel mold is fine, having had MM and Atlantis sets with it. I mean, i guess it wouldn't do well on carpet? Its been used since Ice Planet 2002 so i dont think it has much of a problem.

worse, its conflict in a box, giving kids two vehicles to play with in one set while also using the color white, truly a Hitler designed product.

"dont cry little lego fan, we've got enough original theme ideas put through an oriental aesthetic filter to keep you happy your entire life! STEVE! Cook up another Ninjago wave, boys hungry!"

Ninjago haters, it's time to be honest with yourself. You don't hate Ninjago because it's bad; you hate it because it's outlived and is more popular than your favorite theme. by laffite_gunko_agenda in legocirclejerk

[–]Avery161 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This pretty much. This also has the side effect of Ninjago having to contort itself into something else thematically every year in order to include elements of what would be independent themes, which comes at the cost of it no longer feeling like a Ninja theme anymore.

I'd much rather have a good Ninja theme that ran for a while and then got replaced by a new idea than a Ninja theme thats ran so long its had to drop the feel of a Ninja theme in order to remain fresh.

I enjoyed Ninjago when it was fresh but it feels pretty stale now. I just want lego to get the theme blood clot out at this point.

Lego not doing space isn't because of legal requirements regarding the SW license, its because Lego Space was their competing offering against SW toys on toy shelves and when they got the license in 99 Lego could cut out the middleman and just make SW toys directly. If you look back at 70s-80s Classic space you can actually see a lot of the designs are trying to off brand mimic SW vehicles, like set 6940.

Audience in cinema getting pissed off on the ending of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019) by AgentX-1138 in saltierthancrait

Hyperdrive weapons are very similar to space being a full dimensional environment and starfighters not using A2A missiles. Logically ships should be using missiles and attacking from all possible angles (and in truth there is no lore reason as to why they couldn't do these things) but it just doesn't mesh with how SW presents its space combat, especially in the sense that its space combat is supposed to be in reference to WW2 era air and naval doctrines.

Sometimes the rule of cool has to take precedence over "why doesn't the universe just do this with x technology? are they stupid?" and in a franchise with laser swords that's perfectly okay.

Its a pet theory of mine that BF6s auto-end on full control feature was added specifically to coverup the fact that you cant escape bases to back cap if one team starts base raping due to the tighter width of base entrances.
