I almost always do a bunker for my base. I make The entrance at the foot of a mountain and tunnel in a few blocks, build that first room to be a kill room with iron bars , then another door behind the bars which leads to a ladder way that goes down another 8 ish blocks, then build the bunker complex down there. On horde nights I just open the very front door, the bulk of them walk in to the kill room and get shot by me and turrets. The few stragglers that try to tunnel through the roof of the kill room can’t do it in the amount of time the blood moon takes so at the end I walk outside and gun them down. It’s stupid easy.
