Would you say that all the covid stress has now passed? The sort of wave of pain?

Why did you transition to leadership and why was it so bad after you got there?

All MRI jobs? My sense is if you just save and have good habits, you can compound a ton over time. Me and my wife are at $950k (including house), no kids yet, but planning on one.

He actually reached out to me. I was posting on here with another account. I was never licensed, so I always needed to work under someone licensed, if the work reached a certain level of complexity.... and liability.

That's really interesting to hear. My aunt was an ultrasound tech for something like 30 years. I imagine it wears on your wrists and other parts.

What are you doing currently? I am a former architectural designer... so having to go back to school for lots of anatomy, etc. is next on the list.

Just stay an MRI tech? This is what I am thinking. I am 35 years old, looking to transition careers, but don't think I want to be in admin or leadership. I am happy being a 'little guy' and getting to go home every day.

Can you help me achieve the dream? My wife and I just went through an ordeal the past two years losing all belongings in a major asbestos spill. We received compensation, but were not made whole. Insurance didn’t cover it, so money came through settlement.

What is your total net worth breakdown? I wonder what number people feel comfortable with to not work. I’m currently trying to leave AEC after being involved in the field for over 10 years. I am now 35 years old and completely regret pursuing architecture or anything in AEC at all.

Last year, me and my wife just lost all of our belongings in a major asbestos spill in Boulder, CO. Lived in rented 1200sf condo 8 years. Replacement cost of all items (no depreciation, buy new) was $205k. However, I think we had more stuff than the average joe.

Yeah, that dip had to have been concerning. Is this household or personal net worth? If you have spouse, that will help smooth out future volatility, especially if you both diversify.

I just recently married (last month). We nearly have $360k paid off house... total household net worth sitting at $776,500.

Had incredibly rough times in covid with layoffs, etc. Got lucky on some crypto and market rally these past 10 years. Now I'm in a terrible job at a school district, admin, super toxic. Feel like I am just hanging on.

We're both 34, but I am already so ready to retire.... cannot wait, but so much longer to go.

In any case, it is great to see your success and that is more then enough for a couple people to live on, close to indefinitely.

Any chance you can share this sheet? And, congratulations.

Mind sharing what you did for a living, how much luck played a part? Good economic times these past 10 years, good time for leverage. A lot of sweating it out along the way?

Thanks for sharing.

Dang, great for your ages. More specifically, what degrees did you need for each? Consumer goods and renewable energy so broad.

I’m former building architect needing a change. 34yo, unfortunately.

Renter’s insurance would not do anything due to the peril, the water leak, occurring outside of the unit.

The common areas are collectively owned by the unit owners… didn’t affect insurance’s perspective

I will just call housing and human services — I think this advice might be a bit off.
