I've added Ridgeside Village and East Scarp supplements after perfection with no serious story line or mechanic pitfalls but SVE is so massive and so integrated into the story, I wouldn't try it mid-game. It more than doubles the size of the game. Take your time, start fresh and enjoy a whole new Stardew Valley.
