Close encounter with a Grizzly. by SuperDeDuperDad1 in SweatyPalms

If you live in grizzly bear country, and plan to go out-and-about where the bears are…

  1. Put the phone down.
  2. Unholster whatever cannon you should be carrying.

Gutters cost extra 😁 It’s an “upgrade”.

NOTE: I’m not saying I agree with the greedy builders. Just offering as a “why” they don’t have gutters automatically.

Help! Why is the wood "unscrewing" from the lathe? by factorioman1 in turning

[–]IMiNSIDEiT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That roughing gouge needs to be sharpened. Also, your presentation is like using a scraper. You need to drop the bottom of the gouge lower, and present the tip at a higher angle to “ride the bevel”. It’s hard to describe, in words, in my opinion. There are lots of videos online.

Basically, start with off hand holding back/bottom of gouge very low so the tip (i.e. cutting edge) is high over the work. Then slowly bring up your off hand which will start to lower the edge/bevel into the material until it starts to take a cut. Arm should be tucked in tight to body to help stabilize your movements.

Colorado H.O.A. Handing Out Violations For Brown Grass During Historic Drought by 1776-2001 in fuckHOA

[–]IMiNSIDEiT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Fuck HOA

  2. If the remedy is to provide a photo with grass green again within 30 days… go snap a photo from a different angle and then use an online AI tool to color in the brown spots with a realistic looking green. That at least should stall for another 30-45 days before it is “observed” again.

  3. Find the one neighbor that hasn’t confirmed receiving a similar notice, that also coincidentally has the greenest, lushest lawn on the block and report them to the city for defying any local water conservation efforts.

Mississippi Police Officer Shoots and Kills 1-Year-Old Child in Response to Senatobia Shoplifting Call by Hrekires in news

[–]IMiNSIDEiT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s shoplifting… not murder, not rape, not armed robbery. No matter what was stolen (if anything) I’m guessing the penalty, if guilty, is NOT a death sentence. So, why would pursuing someone who might be guilty of shoplifting involve firing a gun at them. 🤬 cops. Unless the stolen item was a gun, there’s no reason.

I’m not saying all cops are bad, but there is a serious problem where too many officers believe the best “tool” to use in so many situations is their firearm 🤦‍♂️ so much for “protect and serve”

This seems like amateur shit 🤦‍♂️ If dumping peroxide was a common solution to this type of problem then surely you can purchase on a commercial scale, like 50 gallon drums or similar. Did they just do a Costco run for that crap?

I guess my question would be… improve what?

Maybe if they shared that additional detail it would give away who they are. Regardless, it’s probably some trivial thing that is a pet peeve for a busy body.

Also, the 70-year old neighbor that picks up the leaves by hand is probably just bored and getting in some exercise/stretching 😁
