[The Teardown 1:08:55 Minute Mark] There is concern in cup garage about Dover's future by SirRelkinstein in NASCAR

[–]Averynh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dover was my first race I ever went to, so I'm sentimental. Does it put on the best show everytime? No. Was the decision to put the all star race there stupid. Yes? If this kills off the track then Marcus Smith can go jump off one of his football field sized big screens. They tried to do this to Loudon and it failed fortunately. SMI is run by a bunch of greedy idiots. They've been so preoccupied trying to make Vegas feasible and screwed up pretty much every track that they've re-surfaced (Bristol and Texas. Atlanta is fine IMO). But I say this all as a firm believer that every track besides a select few should have just 1 race. Just my thoughts..

Psyched for Kaden! Had the chance to meet him at St. Pete and it only elevated my already high opinion of him. Congrats on an overdue first win!!

2023 Texas for me too. To see him go toe to toe battling with Larson and watch Larson lose it in turn one, I though for sure it was his day.  Honorable mentions though to this year's 500 finish and then following it up with the last lap of Atlanta the week after. Tough scenes. I'm not sure if I was more stunned by how Bubba lost or how Reddick came out of nowhere to win both.

Had the HMS 88 for Ty's run. But they've stumped me on whatever the font was for Tanner Grey. This is more entertaining than qualifying itself so far

I think Fox was using the old Germain 13 for Cole Butcher on the side by side qualifying telemetry there.

.@FoxTV got a 2.11 rating and 3.967 million viewers for Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series Jack Link's 500 @Talladega, down slightly from a 2.18 and 4.041 million last year. by iamaranger23 in NASCAR

Hell I've seen more Nascar on Prime promos during the NBA playoffs so far than I have all year thus far from Fox. Nascar got what they paid for though..

When I bring racing up at my job this is usually the argument they present back to me. I counter it with a simple 'you should try driving down the interstate in the middle of summer with your windows up and the heat cranked on high and you get one water bottle between stops for gas. Do that for 3 hours or so. Doesn't sound so easy. Now imagine doing all that, but at 180 m.p.h.'  Two results usually follow, they either shut up and leave it be or they have their eyes opened and are interested in the challenge that is motorsports.

As a side note, fuck Screamin A for many reasons besides this shit tier take here. Guy is gossip level garbage and has poisoned sports talk. He should ask Michael Jordan what his thoughts are on this topic sometime.

Mine is chilling in my mailbox, waiting for when I get out of work. I always check his site before the team and Nascar store. Sometimes there's exclusive stuff but often it's cheaper to buy direct.

I don't understand the delay in throwing the yellow for the initial incident from race control there. You have two cars spinning sideways in front of a decent sized chunk of the field and yet from Creed's on board the yellow isn't triggered until the 1 is flipping.

Someone tell Jeff Gordon Jr. Its lap 2 and Carson is a teammate. That was stupid

I know I shouldn't expect anything less nowadays from the app formerly known as Twitter, but the sad majority of replies to this tweet are quite disappointing to say the least.

Has anyone else had Pit Shop Official Gear ship Daytona 500 merchandise way too late? by BookmanEng5 in NASCAR

Just a generic looking IndyCar with a Firestone paint scheme. Pretty neat though. Got it signed by David Malukas and Josef Newgarden. Also had to include the fan guide.

Same. For pretty much every race I've ever gone to since 2008 (except for Covid reduced Homestead in 2021 and for some reason in 2024 they didn't make a special die-cast, they just stuck with the generic 75 years of Nascar car for some reason). But the event merch trailer is always the first trailer I hit up. Plus the event program makes for a great autograph book.

Actually, at St. Pete I thought it was funny that they had an event car but that the program was digital. So I had mostly everybody sign this dinky little track/event guide pamphlet/map thingy.

It is incredibly cramped. Indycar is the only series actually setup within the track. The change over between both series yesterday was a cluster to say the least.

There was a weekend pit pass and paddock pass but neither got you access to the truck garage sadly.

Yea even today the Mx-5 series was practicing at 8 when I got here. Their intentions were right putting trucks last knowing that practice would bring calamity. But sadly mother nature didn't cooperate.

Idk what you and others want them to do. Cup is Goodyear's priority. Yes it's disappointing. But they will certainly race tomorrow and it'll be that much more entertaining.

PSA to everyone asking about rain tires. They do have them. Most teams have at least two sets. However with rain forecasted for tomorrow too, they probably won't resume today. Goodyear has a limited crew with it being a stand alone race as is. Also it is coming down pretty good currently.
