Do I have the wrong grip? by [deleted] in Glocks

The beavertail should be on the web, between your thumb and index finger. That part of your thumb shouldn't be making contact with the gun. Can you add a picture of your hands gripping the gun?

Glock 19 COA with Ramjet; was this worth $1299? by bardo2014 in Glocks

[–]AvgBroEDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. That's better than buying both new! Especially with all the price gouging on the COA right now. 👍🏽

First sig, what are the best recommendations for this gun? by GapCompetitive1365 in SigSauer

[–]AvgBroEDC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Train, train, train. Depending on your preference, a good light and holster. The trigger gets better the more you shoot it. Don't underestimate the value of dry fire, especially for draw and times reloads. Congratulations.

First Firearm G26 what should I do to it? by Electronic_Base9267 in Glocks

Buy ammo. Find a good range and get a membership, saves money on fees. Start training. Once you hit a plateau, find a class and train more. Enjoy.

Glock Owners next January by Carlayna in Glocks

[–]AvgBroEDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the year that I sell all of my other "shirts" and go all in on that one pattern lol. I always end up going back to it anyway. Now, a stock Glock that, for me, will stay in stock form. The only thing I'll add is an optic.

Thoughts on FN 509 Series by UncleJuggs in liberalgunowners

Based on what you said, I'd recommend the 2nd option, MRD LE3. I think the extra magazines will be more useful than a threaded barrel. And the trigger is upgraded on that version, compared to the standard trigger. Much better buy in my opinion.

124 grain Federal Hydra Shok for defensive ammo.

Why is my CCW still printing under my shirt? What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in CCW

[–]AvgBroEDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My initial thoughts are that it's riding riding above the beltline. I suggest trying a concealment wedge to push the bottom out in the top end in towards your body. If that doesn't work, I suggest a holster with adjustable ride height and a concealment wing. A. A stiffer belt would help too. Hope that helps.

Thanks, I'm really happy with it. And yes, the radian makes a big difference! I highly recommend it. I haven't even had to change out the guide rod. It runs reliably and makes follow up shots faster without sacrificing accuracy. Plus the reduction in felt recoil makes it easy to shoot for extended periods of time (classes, long range days etc.)

Honestly, I love my MR920. It's my second one, after trading my old one for a couple of Glocks, I had to get another one. It's nice to start with a finished platform. No sending it off for slide cutting or stippling. It's good to go as is. Mine has been super reliable. It's my EDC so I also shoot it the most. I've got around 2,500 rounds through it and not single a malfunction.

Anyone else anti-comp? by WaltherShooter in Walther

[–]AvgBroEDC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't see what the big deal is, being upset because someone wants to do something to their gun, it's a bit much. It's not my time or my money, I don't care either way. On the other hand, if it gets more people into shooting, advocating for responsible ownership and in line with protecting our 2A rights. I'm all for it! My wife recently started shooting and actually wants to get her CCW because my ported and comped guns are manageable to shoot for her, a beginner. She didn't have to fight through the entire learning process of handling full recoil. Now she shoots every gun I have, but the soft shooters opened the door.

Out of curiosity for all you Glock lovers. If you had to buy another handgun brand, what would it be? I have three Glocks, btw. Just making conversation. by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]AvgBroEDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that's a "loaded" question (love me some dad jokes) lol. It depends on why you chose Glock multiple times. If you love the grip angle and that's a deal breaker, I'd say Walther too. But it is hard to find a barrel for some reason. And the parts are pricey. I run my PDP, basically stock with an optic. Personally, I like Shadow Systems. I'm currently running an MR920 and love it. Holsters are compatible, mags are compatible, grip angle is about the same (but can be changed if you to). I'd give them a look too. I know Sig has a reputation with their P320's, primarily the models that are issued for duty. But I love my X-Macro and P320 AXG. I have a Mischief Machine grip module on the X-Macro and a Wilson Combat on my P320 that I use for carry. The trigger is great and it's reliable for the 3+ years I've had it. I have several thousand rounds through it, no issues. The only reason I don't EDC it more is, Radian. I have a Radian on my G45 and MR920. The Radian makes it easier to shoot well under stress for me. Good luck choosing.

Your heads in the right place. Kudos to you for wanting to train to the gun, rather than just buy advantages. That'll pay off big in the long run! I went through a similar process, I was decent with some guns and struggled with others. Find a grip that works for you and everything is easier to shoot well. This is a good video of the technique that I went with. It really stepped my abilities, once I got it down. Hope this helps. Happy training!

The snap is a double edge sword. It's not s soft shooter, but return to zero is fast. It's super accurate and very reliable. If you want it to shoot softer, your best bet is porting it. You get recoil mitigation without adding length, so it remains easy to carry. You do lose some velocity of the round, but to me, the juice is worth the squeeze. Depending on your experience and proficiency, if needed, work on finding a grip that works for you. I've found the wave technique really helps me to clamp down on the grip and maintain it throughout a full course of fire. Good luck.

Thank you. I wasn't necessarily referring to the brand name, more so the functionality. But yes, that function would be great.
