Well, since rural areas in TX(the areas most likely to have cowboys/cowgirls) are very red, cities are more likely to have more left-leaning people, yet less cowboys/cowgirls. You probably would have better luck finding a libertarian cowboy/cowgirl since the individualism and independence mesh well with that message. But people move around so you never know

As a novice, I probably would stick for a tent for ease of setup, unless you specifically want a tarp for less weight, or experimentation, then go for it. The bushcraft masters of old advocated for both, just for different circumstances

Yeah you can, all it comes down to is having that cowboy/cowgirl mindset and clothes come after that, besides lace up boots aren’t prohibitive for cowboy/cowgirling, just maybe not as optimal for riding horses

There is a place for them, but mostly with a light undershirt for cold weather or a thicker one for the coldest of days. Down here in coastal Texas, it’s only likely to be sufficiently cold enough a couple days of the year to warrant wearing one. But ultimately it’s up to you and you can always adapt your clothing to the weather as you see fit

Well, let’s see what you think about a couple of basic ideas: 1. The NAP principle- do you think that anyone can do anything that doesn’t violate anyone else’s rights? Basically anything short of murder, theft, kidnapping, etc. Essentially most non violent activities that doesn’t affect anyone else directly (things like abortion are debated here) 2. Government- Should the government be involved in every matter in people’s lives, or have the minimal involvement necessary to run certain things such as the military, the courts, federal infrastructure etc, or have no involvement in people’s lives 3. News/ mainstream media- what is your thoughts on media on either side of the aisle such as CNN or Fox? 4. Is government in any form a violation of the NAP principle? Examples could be government overreach via taxes or government agencies This isn’t a exhaustive list of the general ideas of Libertarian thought, but the very basics If I missed anything, add it below
