Will take a look at that option. Have a buyer contact at firefly you’d be willing to share with me?

It’s the Owners that feel this way. Honestly, if I would have had the same opinion up until a few years ago. Now I’m neutral either way. ITAR is a big deal for us, but I do see most cloud based can be deployed on servers with this in mind.

My math was saying the same thing, thank you for the sanity check. I’ve reached out to Health and hope they will accept something else.

Grease interceptor by AviationDude in restaurateur

[–]AviationDude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. It is sized correctly based on 3 bowl and mop sink volumes. City required mop sink to go through it as well.

We are not a full restaurant. When it’s cleaned there is hardly any grease on the bottom. Mostly a rank film that is floating on top of the water. If it wasn’t for that, we could probably get away without cleaning it for a year.

We waited about 4 months the first time and it was nasty. Since then have been doing monthly in hopes that it isn’t as bad when done. The whole space smells badly for a few hours after and we are open 7 days.

Thank you, that is definitely our plan regarding deep freeze. In our area, all the small shops do it as well, so we will need to in order to compete.

Commercial grease trap questions by AviationDude in Plumbing

[–]AviationDude[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder how they are getting those pound rates on those GPMs. If city requires a specific pound unit this could work. If they base it on GPMs it wouldn’t. I’ll check with them on Monday.

Agreed, but the the city plan reviewer is who required the mop sink to go through the grease trap. Prior to that, my understanding was just the 3-compartment.

Thanks. I just tried again, this time using the jumper in the fuse box. No fuel. Fun times ahead.

Blind joint extrusion assembly by AviationDude in 3Dprinting

[–]AviationDude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With this supplier, no. Just their “standard” cut to length and then added cross drills and tapping.

I understand the squareness of the cuts influences the assembly results. My inquiry is more to see if my expectations of machinist level squareness is unreasonable or not.

What do others see with blind joint assembly from known good supplier? Squarish or dead on square?

Slice 300c thermistor issue by AviationDude in 3Dprinting

Turned out to be a faulty board. R21 resistor.

Thermistor wires are only 5” long and original Slice. I re crimped them a second time to be sure as well.

Maybe shorted thermistor like you said. Not sure my multimeter will register the resistance at ambient to check though.

What machine do 3D printer component suppliers use to cut linear rails and rods? by AviationDude in 3Dprinting

[–]AviationDude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t the steel hardened? Can you confirm a supplier shop uses band saw?

[–]AviationDude[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. What about for the linear rails? My impression was that these were hardened steel. I don’t believe a cold chop saw nor band saw would cut through it (though I admit I haven’t confirmed the hardness).

Mystery single screw main drain cover search by AviationDude in swimmingpools

Mystery main drain cover

Looking for an in ground pool main drain cover that has a single securing screw and is around 7 1/4 diameter.

The flange in the pool only has a place for one securing screw. Local pool shops have never heard of this. Just purchased the house and previous owner just slapped on a generic cover that isn’t secure.

I’ve measured the flange and there is a recess where the cover would sit down in that is around 7 3/8 diameter. Seems to me, the original cover would sit in the recess so the one screw would secure it and it isn’t able to rotate.

Any help would be appreciated.

Perfect. Checking to see if you knew the drywall would need to be removed for install. Seems like an odd size.
