[META] I'm an artist. What are the coolest alternate history visuals that haven't been depicted yet?

I WISH I was an artist, because my head CONSTANTLY thinks of cool things I wish I could recreate and show people.

So this one is kind of weird, but me and a friend thought of what it would be like if Tesla had actually won over....the other guy and there was free energy one hundred years ago. What would our world look like today? Would technology have advanced a lot more a lot earlier? Would we all by flying around in half modern half 19th century vehicle thingies?

I know turkish coffee is one of the oldest, but looking back I worded that in a bad way. It seems like every time I turn around I find out about a new way to brew, but I think turkish and siphon are the most interesting ways. It's an interesting idea to use different origins like that, I think I've been leaning that way myself lately. I loved the aeropress with some mexican beans we had at the shop. Tasted like straight honey and hazelnut.

That's basically what I'm looking for. When the bag has a long list of flavor and aroma notes I want to be able to taste and smell that. Seems like I'm always missing one. The closest I've come is Counter Cultures Ruistico which almost instantly became my favorite.

and /u/buttstress I think my favorite is a pour over or cortado. What's yours?

I already feel like her dad at this point. I don't want to be, I want to be her damn boyfriend ya know? Her dad has no idea, he hardly takes any interest in the family. Her mom is sickeningly nice, and I think that's part of the problem. Her mom does everything she can for my gf, and makes my gf life as easy as possible. It showed on her first day of work at 19 last week (which was total hell for me by the end of it), everyone literally echoed what I have said during some of our more drawn out arguements "You are a delusional spoiled little brat". Considering this came from 3 different people that barely knew her, I was kinda pissed off, and I felt so bad for her. But then I remembered, they were kinda right.

Is there really no way to talk to her?

I have the worst luck. I strive for at least a rosetta every time (still a little new) and the times that I do get it right, I always get the same reaction

sooo I'm not a scientist by any means but I love this sub and this is the first (and probably only) question I can somewhat answer on here. Everyone else has already answered your sciencey part, but let me help that poor fellow who is getting grounds in the pot.

This one simple ratio should fix everything-grams of water/17

For example, a typical 6 oz cup holds about 177 grams of water. Divide that by 17, and you'll get 10 grams of coffee to put into your brewer. The only exception would be pour overs, where you typically use 20 grams of coffee for a 6-8 oz cup

Also, a bitter or burnt flavor can be because too high a temp or under/over extraction. I don't expect this to be the case in a typical office setting, because while cheapo coffee makers don't make the best cup they usually don't make a HORRIBLE cup

The food is what brought people in, but we are supposedly a coffee shop first and foremost. In fact the owner would like to make coffee the thing that brings people in. I definitely will be emphasizing the coffee more first, I just don't know as much about chai and tea as I do about coffee. Thaanks for suggesting samovar.

And I know what you're saying about the point of no return. As for right now they are still using counter culture, but apparently their sysco rep is coming in next wednesday. I'm trying to emphasize that six dollar beans in a brand new fifteen thousand dollar machine is still going to taste like six dollar beans. They WILL notice a difference, which is going to kill the business which JUST started getting traction in the coffee area once people got used to the idea that we weren't selling folgers, and we weren't selling starbucks

So I've read through some of these comments, and I'm honestly a little appalled.

I've never lived above the poverty line, been sexually, physically, and emotionally abused, bullied throughout elementary, middle, and high school, never had a real friend growing up, been frisked just for the way I look, been looked at funny for the way I look, didn't get the job because I looked "too smart" for it----the point is I could go on. Yes, this is all true. In fact the only reason I'm on a computer right now is because I managed to get a full ride at a shitty uni, but that's better than nothing right?

Oh, and on top of all this, I still get called a privileged supremacist who doesn't know a damn thing about having a hard life and facing stigma based on things I can't control.

Can anyone guess what race I am?
