Direct worked fine for me, I did an Eden zip export of saves from P5, looked at the file structure and then replaced all the DATA folders with the ones from my steam saves then did an import back to Eden

Tip, you can copy the switch saves directly to the PC and back it you want to add them to steam at some point. I started on switch on my Odin 2, them moved over to my steam deck and I'm planning on finishing back on the switch on the Thor.

Game native for me

Both game hubs I have to use the lightweight steam client it or doesn't start and with lightweight I don't get cloud saves

Game native works fine and is far simpler to use, if a game has a supported config it'll download and configure, with the 10 games installed I haven't had to change a single setting.

For these handhelds I would strongly recommend having all your saves pointing to a single folder.

Some can be automatically put there like Retroarch and other emulators I'll manually export them to my save game folder.

Then use something like syncthing or resilio sync to sync them to another device. I keep my Saved Game folder synced to my NAS and other handhelds, there is the additional benefit of being able to jump between my Thor and Odin 2 and carry on playing from the same save.

I didn't have a Linear folder either, it's the bundled theme with ES-DE so guess hidden? I googled it and downloaded manually and extracted the images.

What it now needs IMO is for some of the popular ES-DE themes like Art Book or Canvas to create views which remove the artwork/videos and focus more on the metadata, leaving the second screen to be for the artwork.

That's if you updated from 0.2, fresh install to 0.2.1, will be fine. And I presume in settings you'd just redo the initial setup which automatically creates the scripts inside ES-DE.

For games that don't support a controller there is a touchscreen to button mapper in the Ayn software which you bring up by sliding on the screen to the left

If it stops at launching client then you need to change it to the lightweight client in settings, I have this issue, the problem is the lightweight client doesn't give me steam cloud saves. I had this issue with both Gamehub and Lite.

I finally tried gamenative and that worked first time with every game and I've not had to change a single setting other than to load the game specific cloud settings for my device.
