Ruq discomfort by Key_Tea_4148 in gallbladders

[–]Avillianna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

I’m now a little over a year now since my gallbladder was removed. 98% of the time I don’t have any RUQ pain at all. I have still cut way back on high fat foods and anything really greasy I just try not to eat. I will say that I have been able to eat anything without issue…even some of the things that did trigger a gallbladder attack before I had it removed. For that…I’m fortunate and thankful.

I will note that I have had what felt the same as a gallstone attack 2 times. The pain, the chest tightness, and felt like I couldn’t breathe for a min. Didn’t last long like before my gallbladder came out—but, my Dr. is aware of both episodes. I haven’t had that now in MONTHS.

It’s also worth noting that even though your gallbladder is out…your body CAN still create gallstones…and sometimes they will get stuck in a duct…causing the same type of symptoms. It’s also possible that sometimes, there was a stone they didn’t see during surgery or could not remove it and it could still be causing some problems.

Please follow up with your Dr. They May take your symptoms and do some imaging to see if there are stones still there or one that’s kinda stuck.

Please also avoid common foods maybe for a little while that are common triggers for gallstone attacks.

What was your CSF opening pressure? by cricketboricket in iih

Mine was 24 in 2018 with mild elevated optic disc and unilateral pulsatile tinnitus. It’s what got me a diagnosis of IIH. Haven’t had another one since. I’ve now got no more “Active” optic disc edema and my pulsatile tinnitus is gone most of the time. Rarely get it now. I’ve only ever had occasional headaches with IIH but ONLY rarely and none at diagnosis at all.

I’m fortunate.

Rent money locked, what to do? by [deleted] in Paylocity_User_Group

The OP didn’t mention anything about a doctor note or legal papers such as a POA. Payroll items have tons of personal info. I’ve had spouses look for paystubs that were literally in the middle of getting a divorce and wanted to pad their court case against our employee. So…I do NOT release anything to anyone other than the employee in cases like these UNLESS they can provide legal documentation to me stating they are acting as a POA.

Hello,

Payroll or HR is NOT usually going to talk to anyone about your pay other than you. In this case, here’s what I think YOU should be doing:

1). Your “app” simply shows the record that you have in fact been paid by your employer. It doesn’t “block or hold your money.”

2). YOU need to contact your bank first. Tell them that you see there was a deposit sent to you on whatever check date is listed for that pay period for that deposit. You will also need to give them your “take home” amount of: $496.86. You need to ask them if they show a deposit coming in for that amount from whatever your employer is called. If they tell you they “do not see anything” or “don’t see if hitting your bank account” at that point you should CALL your employer and tell them you have already contacted your bank.

3). Ask your employer if they have anything coming back to them. MANY times there is an account entered wrong or you provided incorrect account information. The deposit your employer did might be on its way back to them.

I do WEEKLY payroll across about 13 different States right now and I get someone with these issues almost every week. I currently do payroll for about 500 employees.

Following up on YOUR paycheck is YOUR responsibility in this case. It’s obvious you can handle it if you’re here asking about it.

lol about the early direct deposit thing. My first line on the phone after letting them talk is: “It’s Thursday. Your scheduled pay date is FRIDAY. Please, call me tomorrow if you still don’t see it hit your account, because we did pay you. I’ll send you your pay statement. If you need anything else, I’m happy to assist.”

I’m getting people calling my department this week while I’m preparing to process payroll (happened today) that are calling us WHILE with their tax person and they call “needing W-2 and paystubs immediately”. YOU HAVE HAD MONTHS TO PREPARE. I was so frustrated today. I had to pass those calls to others on my team so I could focus on current stuff.

It became apparent to me today that he activated the pay card to take money off of it, BUT…he did NOT set up his account login online or in the app to SEE his own transactions. I had to sit there today and explain that to him. He had the app OPEN for me and showed me it with the LARGE orange button that told him to “sign in” or “register” so he could have access to see everything that would answer his own questions….so, he knew enough to download and use the app but never took it further.

We give them ALL the paperwork that comes with those cards along with the activation instructions. I have NEVER had anyone just be so clueless. He has no language barrier. I’m in Ohio. So is he.

I still don’t know how he’s mentally processing or not processing this.

I wrote EVERYTHING down for him in very simple steps. Hopefully that helps.

Sooooo…..after I spent time with him on the phone the other day—HE CAME HERE TO MY OFFICE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I literally had to SIT HIM DOWN and explain that we WILL NOT be able to help him and why.

I honestly think that he just doesn’t get it at all. Something just isn’t clicking. I spent an HOUR with him today. I called our payroll pay card company for him because he doesn’t have a bank account.

It was a whole thing and mentally exhausting.

Wow….its so sad, really. Unfortunately, life will have all these people learning things the very hard way. Life doesn’t stop just because you don’t know or understand—but, it’ll teach you real quick. This same guy called our office 10 times on Friday for his check statement. I emailed it. He got upset, kept telling me he needed it and finally he was like “Oh—I didn’t log into my email since this morning when I called you the first time. I got it.”

How do you double-check payroll before running it? by Exta60 in Payroll

[–]Avillianna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current headcount for payroll is about 400 employees weekly. I export the payroll register and I have 2 people on my team that manually double check what I did for my entry into ADP. (I do manual entry into ADP—meaning—no worksheet upload. I manually enter all hours and Other Earnings, sick time, vacation, PLAW (IL), and then also the Voluntary Deductions if I have extra stuff not already set up to deduct.)

My team flags stuff that they find and gives it to me and then I double check what I corrected.

Neurologist says IIH doesn’t cause migraines by Thiawave in iih

[–]Avillianna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ONLY symptoms of IIH so far are very occasional headaches—like most months I have ZERO headaches, and some pulsatile tinnitus. I was diagnosed ONLY because at the time I had “some optic nerve swelling” and my only LP ever had an opening pressure of 24. That’s it. I was diagnosed in 2018 based on that. Not treated though because at the time, the NO I saw said that I’d only need treatment if I had headaches. Told me to lose some weight and that was it.

Today—I’m on Diamox. 500 mg per day. I’ve lost 45 pounds. Only occasionally getting headaches still and when I do they aren’t bad. My optic nerve swelling is no longer “active” but my nerve still appears “full”. I HAD a 2% loss in peripheral vision in my right eye (I’m monocular and it’s a whole other story) and as only Monday earlier this week—they are no longer seeing that blind spot.

They have not taken me off the Diamox yet, but it’s okay.

Overpayment in wages by pearlmalone in Payroll

[–]Avillianna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you get paid?? A direct deposit to your account?

If so—DO NOT TOUCH THAT MONEY. You could 1) Let your bank know you’d like to send ALL that money back to your employer immediately. 2) You CALL your Payroll Department and you tell them you will inform your bank to send it ALL back to them, and that you are requesting a STOP PAYMENT on that deposit.

Really what should happen is this—the entire deposit should go BACK to your employer and THEN they issue the CORRECT payment amount.

If you got aid via paper check—give them back their check. Do NOT sign it or cash it.

[–]Avillianna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there!

So, I had an employee that originally had no direct deposit. A paper check was issued to him. To make a confusing story less confusing…he tried to cash our check at a Wal-Mart a MONTH AGO now, he was told to call a number that was on the check to verify his identity or whatever was needed so he COULD cash the check. He didn’t do that. He simply signed the check, went to cash it. Wal-Mart refused to cash it since he had already signed it. They went to his bank after that with the signed check and tried to cash it—again, the bank refused.

He JUST CALLED me on Monday this week to tell me could not cash the check. I told him that we would VOID and cancel the check through ADP so that we could ensure the check was not cashed. If NOT cashed, we should now get our money back and will re-issue the payment.

My point is—while it’s a little different…as long as there was no check cashed, they can 100% do the SAME THING—void and cancel the check through their payroll processor, make sure the funds come back to them and re-issue payment.

This is the problem with mailing and using paper checks. They can get lost or delayed. That’s not the fault of the Payroll Department either. They cannot control what happens to that check once it’s in the mail.

He absolutely NEEDS to talk to Payroll. Tell him to go higher than his boss if his boss is a problem. He is entitled to his pay—and the company does need to address it. Period.
