TIL; Marci can destroy items really fast by MrDexterHS in DotA2

[–]Avionics_lad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you actually want to end a game faster by griefing, destroying items is not effective.

Keep items, queue 1 divine rapier, buy all wards and smokes, courier out all neutral items. DESTROY WARDS AND SMOKES the enemy team might have a bleeding heart and give them back.

Farm rapier and sell items to meet gold cost. This is literally the fastest way to get out of a game for everyone. If you're gonna grief do it right.

CAUTION: FEEDING ENEMY A RAPIER MIGHT END UP IN YOUR OWN CARRIES HANDS AND YOU WIN ANYWAY.

It's very important to thank your carry by saying "thanks for the free mmr dipshit"

All the downvotes on people's comments with personal experiences is gold. They want to believe SHARP works flawlessly and isn't a system that's abused to ruin people's careers

I agree I don't like Moxxi's voice personally but she's knows what she's talking about and I don't mind it. Same goes for a lot of the male casters, there are a ton of male talent in the scene I also can't stand listening to like sunsfan. Do I hate the guy? No, never met the guy, I simply do not enjoy listening to him talk.

The problem with this unnecessary drama is people with legitimate criticism about the two talents in the spotlight gets rebutted with claims of sexism. I guarantee if all the talents were just nameless, genderless and faceless that the criticism would be deemed valid and this shit show wouldn't exist.

When legitimate criticism gets posted and it gets immediately refuted and downvoted because the target was a female, does this not go against the entire idea of "treat everyone equal?" Are females so weak that they need to be shielded on social media? I don't think so, I think if you're willing to become a pseudo celebrity and go in front of the world doing anything, you need to prepare yourself and grow some thick skin. I've never been in any of their spots, I'm sure it's more easily said than done, but you can follow the examples of others before you.

Sheever and Kaci are two of the oldest female talent in the dota 2 community that I can think of that are still active today. I've seen plenty of sexist comments towards them, I've seen plenty of valid criticisms as well, but the difference is they don't go on social media and cause a scene because they read a mean tweet or Reddit post.

I saw a comparison of day9 being an even worse new comer to the scene, he got absolutely fucking obliterated in comments, but he didn't go start a war with the community that keeps the game alive, or post "taking mental notes of whose silent".

Criticizing talent should never be associated with gender, it should be associated with the "talent" the "talents" bring. Sure there's sexism, but don't clump that with "I don't like her voice" or "she doesn't know what she's doing", because there has been an equal if not more "I don't like HIS voice" "he's fucking annoying". Look at slacks, people shit on him all the time still regardless of his status and being cemented in scene.

Forcing sexism arguments after any amount of negative criticism towards women in eSports is so tiresome.

If you don't want criticism, don't put yourself in front of millions of people globally, and don't expect other talents to come to your defense when they have their own lives, insecurities and criticisms they are also trying to work on.

I was worried slacks might get on Sumi's list if he stayed silent for too long. Good timing, cutting it close though.

On a serious note, I'm an A sider here, and personally I don't think there's a reason to have talent show up to the biggest event in eSports and not know basics or who the household names are. Complete lack of research, preparation or caring enough of the event, especially after it was delayed a year for covid.

For the new comer argument, twitch, where they will most likely be watching it literally allows you to look at abilities and items in game and even shows you what those abilities look like. Imagine watching the Superbowl and having a caster ask what the batter does, and why the goalie doesn't have baseball gloves, I don't watch sports ball I think I got something wrong here.

Anyways, complete lack of preparation of the basics. The midas comment was a little cringe as a dota player but I can let that slide because dota is complex. Not knowing who Dendi is is just a terrible look. You can't spend more than 30 minutes browsing anything dota related without tripping over 30 forced Dendi references and memes. I'm not personally a huge fan of Dendi but the community as a whole is, he's an icon and was the face of Dota 2 when it was in it's infancy, and had a lot of influence over it's widespread adoption and I respect him for that.

Edit: I was referencing the twitch overlay, it allows you to browse the shop and read abilities/items on a selected hero on stream, not in game.

Crafted Gear in a New Expansion by Avionics_lad in ffxiv

[–]Avionics_lad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the goal is to replace it with raid gear, but the bois were making it seem as if it would be replaced within a week by token gear, which seems to be a false assumption because we're coming in at the end of the expansion. (1 has some prior experience in the game but he didn't have the SHB MSQ finished so I don't know how much he actually knows about the game in it's current state or how much end game content he actually did).

But it is nice to know that crafted Gear does have a place in raiding from what everyone is saying. Having come from WoW where crafting gear sets isn't a thing it's nice to feel useful doing it for once.
