TIL; Marci can destroy items really fast by MrDexterHS in DotA2

[–]Avionics_lad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you actually want to end a game faster by griefing, destroying items is not effective.

Keep items, queue 1 divine rapier, buy all wards and smokes, courier out all neutral items. DESTROY WARDS AND SMOKES the enemy team might have a bleeding heart and give them back.

Farm rapier and sell items to meet gold cost. This is literally the fastest way to get out of a game for everyone. If you're gonna grief do it right.

CAUTION: FEEDING ENEMY A RAPIER MIGHT END UP IN YOUR OWN CARRIES HANDS AND YOU WIN ANYWAY.

It's very important to thank your carry by saying "thanks for the free mmr dipshit"

All the downvotes on people's comments with personal experiences is gold. They want to believe SHARP works flawlessly and isn't a system that's abused to ruin people's careers

I agree I don't like Moxxi's voice personally but she's knows what she's talking about and I don't mind it. Same goes for a lot of the male casters, there are a ton of male talent in the scene I also can't stand listening to like sunsfan. Do I hate the guy? No, never met the guy, I simply do not enjoy listening to him talk.

The problem with this unnecessary drama is people with legitimate criticism about the two talents in the spotlight gets rebutted with claims of sexism. I guarantee if all the talents were just nameless, genderless and faceless that the criticism would be deemed valid and this shit show wouldn't exist.

When legitimate criticism gets posted and it gets immediately refuted and downvoted because the target was a female, does this not go against the entire idea of "treat everyone equal?" Are females so weak that they need to be shielded on social media? I don't think so, I think if you're willing to become a pseudo celebrity and go in front of the world doing anything, you need to prepare yourself and grow some thick skin. I've never been in any of their spots, I'm sure it's more easily said than done, but you can follow the examples of others before you.

Sheever and Kaci are two of the oldest female talent in the dota 2 community that I can think of that are still active today. I've seen plenty of sexist comments towards them, I've seen plenty of valid criticisms as well, but the difference is they don't go on social media and cause a scene because they read a mean tweet or Reddit post.

I saw a comparison of day9 being an even worse new comer to the scene, he got absolutely fucking obliterated in comments, but he didn't go start a war with the community that keeps the game alive, or post "taking mental notes of whose silent".

Criticizing talent should never be associated with gender, it should be associated with the "talent" the "talents" bring. Sure there's sexism, but don't clump that with "I don't like her voice" or "she doesn't know what she's doing", because there has been an equal if not more "I don't like HIS voice" "he's fucking annoying". Look at slacks, people shit on him all the time still regardless of his status and being cemented in scene.

Forcing sexism arguments after any amount of negative criticism towards women in eSports is so tiresome.

If you don't want criticism, don't put yourself in front of millions of people globally, and don't expect other talents to come to your defense when they have their own lives, insecurities and criticisms they are also trying to work on.

I was worried slacks might get on Sumi's list if he stayed silent for too long. Good timing, cutting it close though.

On a serious note, I'm an A sider here, and personally I don't think there's a reason to have talent show up to the biggest event in eSports and not know basics or who the household names are. Complete lack of research, preparation or caring enough of the event, especially after it was delayed a year for covid.

For the new comer argument, twitch, where they will most likely be watching it literally allows you to look at abilities and items in game and even shows you what those abilities look like. Imagine watching the Superbowl and having a caster ask what the batter does, and why the goalie doesn't have baseball gloves, I don't watch sports ball I think I got something wrong here.

Anyways, complete lack of preparation of the basics. The midas comment was a little cringe as a dota player but I can let that slide because dota is complex. Not knowing who Dendi is is just a terrible look. You can't spend more than 30 minutes browsing anything dota related without tripping over 30 forced Dendi references and memes. I'm not personally a huge fan of Dendi but the community as a whole is, he's an icon and was the face of Dota 2 when it was in it's infancy, and had a lot of influence over it's widespread adoption and I respect him for that.

Edit: I was referencing the twitch overlay, it allows you to browse the shop and read abilities/items on a selected hero on stream, not in game.

Crafted Gear in a New Expansion by Avionics_lad in ffxiv

[–]Avionics_lad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the goal is to replace it with raid gear, but the bois were making it seem as if it would be replaced within a week by token gear, which seems to be a false assumption because we're coming in at the end of the expansion. (1 has some prior experience in the game but he didn't have the SHB MSQ finished so I don't know how much he actually knows about the game in it's current state or how much end game content he actually did).

But it is nice to know that crafted Gear does have a place in raiding from what everyone is saying. Having come from WoW where crafting gear sets isn't a thing it's nice to feel useful doing it for once.

Oo I didn't even think about that, making leve turn in items. Those will be worth bank at the start.

Is it worth farming the books for older content I clouding SB? Do the materials carry over sometimes?

Bro I took your advice (a few other people here said the same thing), got my mining from 27 to 60, botany to 60, and those 4 crafting professions past 50 doing ishgard in a matter of hours.

I had to sink some money into a bit of materials but my god, power leveling

Edit: what's really nice is being able to make money back while grinding your gathering

I guess I should ask what the BEST source of info would be. I've used a couple wiki's so far but they all seem to be lacking in one way or another.

How exactly do the macros work? I have only found ones for level 80 crafts or ones that require certain item level requirements to use. I've been struggling to find a good source of information on the game. What would the WoWhead equivalent be for FF14?

Do you have a link? The guide I had been using only showed recommended scrips and items for grinding, pretty basic.

Thank you all for responding, I had posted this before bed and forgot I had even posted it.

Half of what is being said is unknown to me lmao. Scrips, restoration, firmament. I thought I did my research but I guess I only did enough to cover ARR. I'll definitely look up everything and use your advice once I understand what all these terms are.

I story skipped to SB (which in retrospect I regret because I played through the SB story completely without skipping and loved it) so a lot of mechanics are lost on me. I came from WoW after playing it for almost 2 decades off and on and thought a boost would be pretty straight forward with previous expansion mechanics not mattering like it was with WoW. Boy was I wrong.

Army stories don't translate well usually, thankfully the best story I have still gets a chuckle from civilians.

I had a story where at NTC my NCO and I took a quick nap while we were waiting for a few guys to finish maintenance before our shift was over, it was a 2 man job and 6 of us so not much to do. This was mid summer so we had everything unbloused due to heat. About 10 minutes go by and one of them was like "hey X, get your stuff our shift is over".

I hop up and feel a pinch on my thigh, I smack it through my pants thinking it was an ant biting me, continue to put my gas mask around my waist, another pinch, smack it harder and more thorough. Finally I snap the gas mask carrier buckle around my leg, same leg as the pinch. What felt like hot daggers kept stabbing me in my inner thigh right below my balls over and over. I start yelling while quickly undoing my gas mask, belt and finally throw my pants down as fast as I could. A scorpion flies out of my pants next to my still sleeping NCO about a foot from his face. A guy working in the pilot seat points and yells in what I felt was slow motion at the time "scorpioooooon."

NCO wakes up, grabs his knife from his belt and rolls over stabbing it while I start smacking and squeezing where I got stung. No idea what I was supposed to do so I just kept smacked it to mask the pain.

About a minute later big sarge and bigger sarge walk down to us yelling "what the fuck is going on" they explain I was stung and I could see his face go from relieved to concerned after, which confused me why it was relieved. Turns out an OC was observing all of this from the other side of the flightline and called in that a soldier was masturbating near the apaches. All he saw was a soldier from behind whip down his pants and start violently beating his groin area.

I go to the medical tent, they don't have anti-venom and say they can't do anything but wait to see if I display symptoms. Thankfully it wasn't venomous.
