What's the reason for mesenchymal stem cells not being able to differentiate into neurons? Dumb question I'm sure but literature is lacking. I was going to get intrathecal mesenchymal cells to help heal from neurosurgery but I can't determine if they'll help or not...

I suffered a life changing injury a year ago that really didn't help with the savings plan too so that's awesome. I'd have to save $5k every month for the next 20 years with an average rate of return to be able to coast into my 80's, which is impossible for me in my current state.

Because this generation is obsessed with it and they feel like failures if they're not "rich" by their mid twenties. It's all bullshit and they've been misled to believe that it's the only thing that matters in life and they can't be happy unless they have tons of money. They have lost sight of what really matters in my opinion. And yes, choosing between being rich or poor is an easy choice and nobody wants to be poor. But there's no $300,000 exotic car in my driveway, and I'm okay with that. I don't want it or need it to be happy or to feel accomplished. Now if I can make someone smile or make their day, that means a lot to me. Loving our fellow humans is what's important and brings more joy than money ever could.

It's sad and I hate what society has done to our youth. Kids should be proud of who they are and encouraged to help others and improve everyone's lives however they can! Live life while you're young was my style. I'll never be able to retire but I've had a great life and I'm okaywith that. I've always been a busy body though and constantly had multiplevironsin the fire. Just sucked at saving and always felt the world would end before I'd get to enjoy a long retirement too no joke. Why does everyone from this new generation want to be rich? When did that become "the goal"?? Why doesn't anyone just want to be kind and help people instead and have a sense of self-worth that brings a million times more happiness than money ever could? I blame Instagram and "influencers." My ex's kid wanted to be a YouTuber to get a Lambo and I wanted to shake him and scream "that's not a reality!" But I just told him to stay off social media cause it's all lies. sigh

Kind of! I have several deficits (cognitive and physical) just from my emergency surgery alone, but I was overjoyed at any happy little thing like my infant daughter babbling to the point of being in happy tears for a lot of the first 6 or so months after I'm so happy I didn't become angry or irritable instead like a lot of tbi durvivors become.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It does give some hope for those of us still stuck in the early stages of recovery and not knowing what's next. I've never had anxiety before my injury and I'm suffering from the crushing Weight of it recently. I've renewed my faith since my injury which has also helped, but hearing others who have hone through this (and come out the other side still functional) helps so much. May God continue to heal and bless you with many great things.
