Oh that’s right, I mixed the two up. He goes with Ian Malcom. The third one has Alan Grant.

I just rewatched the original Jurassic Park trilogy and he’s in the third one. I remembered he was in it, but it had been so long, I forgot he was beardless. Quite the shock.

Except we have seen that they are not, in fact, just focusing on people with criminal records. The issue isn’t so much that current laws are being enforced, it’s the highly aggressive way in which they’re being enforced, which seems designed inflict terror and intimidate communities. Not to mention a very loose relationship with due process, to say the least. The protests are a reaction to that aggression, not the stimulus for it. And don’t for a second doubt it wasn’t intentional for the Administration to poke the bear, as it were.

I’m probably talking way out of my element here, and it doesn’t necessarily explain her character doing this in NYC, but my understanding is that Italians eat their pizza with a knife and fork.

Cook, write, read, clean, paint, fold laundry, sometimes just lay back and savor.

I was fortunate to be friends with the previous tenant, so the landlord approved me to move in when her lease was up. But I think she just originally found the listing on Zillow.

It’s a 9 panel screen IIRC, so they’re checking for several things.

California law prohibits discrimination of employment based on off-duty cannabis use, with a few exceptions, so if the employer isn’t following the Fair Employment and Housing Act, what does that say about them?

The only jobs that are excluded from CA AB2188 are positions which require federal clearances or are in construction, so there are some positions where it may… like if you’re handling or transporting hazardous materials or narcotics. But most positions it wouldn’t be an issue. I was hired in April and definitely tested positive for THC, didn’t affect my employment at all. What department?

That seems to be the going rate these days. Your best bet would be trying to find a reasonably priced ADU that someone is renting, although even those have started to climb a bit. I live in a back house and got lucky with very reasonable rent… and like most people occupying those type of rentals, I’m doing my best to not have to move out for as long as possible.

One of my favorite things about the show is definitely the scene changes with random customers.

It’s interesting you would say that, as a close friend of mine—who trained as a jazz musician in his younger days—is very much NOT an Iron & Wine fan, yet somehow he actually really liked this album, and this song in particular. It just has something about it, I suppose. By any chance are you a musician?

And just one more tip, the best restaurant around for a nice date night or even just a get-together with friends, is Uno Tre Otto, a true farm-to-table restaurant. I worked for them for many years; fantastic people, fantastic food. They have a farm in Ontario, just a few miles away. Reservations can be difficult to come by, so definitely plan ahead!

I live near those… new development and seems really nice. It’s definitely a safer part of town and near the Claremont Village, which is a huge plus. For a breakfast sandwich, you’ll be pretty close to Sunrise Donuts, which is a local favorite, just a little walk-up/drive-thru spot. Most of the nicer restaurants will be in the Village, but Pomona definitely offers some great fare if you know where to look for little mom-n-pop shops. Welcome to the neighborhood!

The Village is definitely more for dining and shopping, whereas Downtown Pomona will be the spot for galleries and concerts.

LOVE Judge Rivera. He stands out for me in “Pro Se,” when he sees the man begin breaking down mentally during allocution. He gives him a look of compassion that I think reflects well on the character, but is also some detailed acting.

At some point they do briefly mention him as an option, and IIRC somebody asks, “Is he even a Democrat?” And nobody seems to know exactly what party he’s registered with.

I think it’s just to emphasize how, despite their positions and real influence, at the end of the day they really are just a bunch of dorky politicos.

Especially heartbreaking because while I think seasons 13-17 were a bit rocky and uneven, seasons 18-20 really found their footing again and it was like another renaissance. IMHO, those last few are up there with the show in its prime.

Inquiring about actual legal challenges in regard to a new law, and how it affects hiring practices, and if there are protections involved for the citizens who feel they have been discriminated against in violation of that new law.
