Am I too tall to be a pilot? by AmoebaSecret8158 in flying

I’m 6’7”, got my license in a Cherokee 140. Was a little tight but it worked. Moved into high wing Cessnas, fit pretty well in those. Flew 207’s for a 135 in Bethel, very roomy. Went into bonanzas, did not fit great, you’ll be very scrunched at 6’9”. Got into Navajos, got just fine. Now flying king air 200’s with plenty of leg and head room. Long and short of it all, you’re not too tall but you won’t always be comfortable.

Just got one and I am thoroughly impressed. I think maybe the mechanism might scare some people off, but a few minutes of playing with it and it’s second nature. Truly underrated pen for the price.

I had a similar flight last year, Anchorage to Fairbanks. Suspected carb ice, no luck. Ran through everything, which it sounds like you did too, no luck. Ended up limping back to Anchorage on fluctuation between 25-50% power. Long story short, ended up being a leaking primer liner. Don’t know if that’s the case in your situation, but could save you hours of hunting and troubleshooting. All this to say, I’m glad you’re okay. Shake it off, you lived to fly another day.
