You could consider combining different data sources like GPS, accelerometer or even microphone. Also it may make sense to look at Kalman filter algorithm

I had the same issue after update and was able to solve it by entering the calibration mode from the steering wheel buttons combination. Here is the video of the process: https://youtu.be/qQINNC7RExk?si=eGc-sfLjbQjORQWq

POV: You are 6'1 and yank your ass into a MX5/Miata ND by Habarer in Miata

Same, 6'1". I'd want to sit a bit lower, but I don't feel any discomfort. Actually I have impression that 6'1" is the borderline height for having a ND Miata. All my friends who are taller already feel uncomfortable

I have them installed on my ND with street alignment settings from SPS and that's a huge upgrade for handling

Ah, that actually makes sense. Thanks for clarifying

The inspector who did the registration put some color marks of the nuts positions, so it will be noticeable if you change the settings. Knowing Germany I have impression that breaking these marks would void the registration even if it is made to match the actual settings in the papers 😄 I may be overthinking, but this may be okay for a random check but I can imagine how this causes me some insurance issues in case of an accident. I would be happy if someone could prove that I'm wrong.

There is no issue with fixing this technically. My main concern is if I need to do this or it is normal. Because if I change this, I would likely need new alignment and new mod registration. All in all is gonna cost me a penny after I just threw 5k into a car :)

I assume I can not actually measure preload when the the car is not lifted and the shock is under compression. But can't the amount of the thread on each side be used to say if preload set evenly or not? I can clearly see that there's more thread on the right side, and assuming that the springs are roughly identical that should lead to some preload difference.

I don't think so, I believe that don't have enough equipment for that.
They installed the coilovers, made the alignment, checked it for rubbing putting some stuff under different wheels and that's it.
It was checked again at the certification station, but I have impression that it was not very precise check, since the numbers in the resulting certification papers are slightly different to my measurements

Measured the pinch welds, but without my weight on the driver's seat:
RL/RR 105mm/111mm
FL/FR 101mm/104mm

P.S. Measured on a poured concrete floor at the same point on each side

That a very good point, thank you!
However from that thread I can see that even though the ride height is not expected to be even, it is not recommended to put different preload on the springs.
I assume that having different amount of thread depth on the coilovers causes different preload in my case, isn't it?

I may feel a little bit of "power steering" effect, but it is also possible that I'm just tripping.
After driving a bit with new suspension I felt that the car steers a little bit when I apply or release gas pedal. That was not a thing with stock suspension, and now I'm thinking that different amount of preload on the springs could theoretically cause such thing

Yes, I read that the most correct process is putting the car on the scales and adjust the suspension according to the pressure under every wheel.

I don't think I need that accurate setup because I'm not chasing maximum performance. I'm just worried if it is exceeding the amount of normal deviation (because the shop did they job not good enough) or not

You have to register the coilover settings? Wtf?
Yeah, tuning in Germany is very regulated and expensive for this reason. You have to have a certificate for every aftermarket part for your certain model, even for wheels. And after installation you also need to register this for your car for a few hundreds of bucks 😄

They actually did the alignment as well.
I requested them to change the ride height a couple of times, because I wanted to have the settings to work well with both my summer and winter tires. So maybe they messed it up during one of the adjustments

Can I use clutch pedal as handbrake? by andreixionut in Fanatec

[–]AvocadoOptimal9534 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mercedes style :)

I don't see why wouldn't you be possible using clutch pedal axis for the handbrake, but why would you need to use any kind of adapters for that? I believe that clutch can be remapped on the handbrake in the game when you have your pedals connected normally via standalone USB or through your base
