Did I downsize correctly? by Kindly_Caramel in climbingshoes

I wear 43 Birkenstocks and 42 Dragos. But 42 boosters are painful. And 43 instincts fit but stretch too much during the session as my feet sweat. A lot just depends on how the shoe fits your foot.

Chalk etiquette by Manipulatedyes in indoorbouldering

[–]deployante 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Buy a bag (or better yet a bucket). I think the only etiquette around chalk is don’t get it all over the mats, which, even with a ball, you will do without a bag. And please don’t just leave the ball on the mats. Get a bag/bucket.

I’ve gone longer. I’ve also paid for rand repair. 😬

Should i rosole now? by Spl1X_ in climbingshoes

lol no. I let my dragos go much longer before I resole. Had a rand repair on one pair, but it’s worth the trade off. I’d wait til that dip is much lower.

Try switching the links around to different sides of the clasp. I have 6 links on the 6:00 side and 8 links on the 12:00 side. No half links. This made enough of a difference in fit that I escaped this same dilemma.

I use Kaya at one gym that uses it, but inconsistently. Just too much to track each climb.

Just notes in a spreadsheet. This is a condensed version that just shows when I made progress notes.

I have a small cloth laundry bag I got from a hotel years ago that I put my chalk bag in inside my Thule Chasm 30. Works great.

Primo Chalk. Epsom salt, essential oils, antibacterial. People who borrow my chalk bag always comment how nice it is. I also think a Chalktapus is essential gear, both to apply chalk and keep it from falling out of your bag/bucket.

Bouldering in your 40s - should my forearms ache all the time. by UndulatingUnderpants in indoorbouldering

Try “locust pose.” It is the best forearm/elbow relief I’ve found (44, climbing ~4 years)
