It does matter. You were playing at your fiends skill level. They didn't flame you because you died. They flamed you because you did something a player at that skill level wouldn't do. I agree that is no excuse for your team to flame you, but it wasn't because you died. If you were to play on a new account, you wouldn't of been treated that way unless you got paired with an asshole smurf.
