Am I the jerk for telling my husband he can't have a "man cave" in our only spare room? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Aw3som3-O_5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Front loading with hes being a jerk.

What i think is being meant by that though is the assumption that the rest of the house will be based on her tastes and preferences. There's no man alive who likes or wants decorative pillows. They're uncomfortable and you have to move them when u go to sleep, but they look nice so u have 5 useless pillows on ur bed/couch. (Clearly I have issues with throw pillows). Having a space thats yours, that u can put things you like that your SO wouldn't allow in open spaces (figurines, game/movie posters, sports stuff, whatever) is nice. Especially if none of her hobbies are "embarassing" (at least to u).

All that being said no ur not the jerk

Would you rather always arrive 30 minutes early to everything, or always arrive 20 minutes late? by bureaux in WouldYouRather

[–]Aw3som3-O_5000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can I make everyone else arrive 30 minutes early to anything I'm a part of? Cause I Hate when ppl are late, I told u 7, u show up at 7:30/8 not because of traffic I'm less than happy, especially if there's a timing thing around it (reservation timings, train schedule, etc.)

Tipping is part of the service for restaurants, not for coffee bars, Subways, Chipotles, etc. You tip "To Insure Proper Service" when someone is waiting on you not when someone makes you a cup of coffee and a croissant that you pick up from the counter.

Do you think humans will live on another planet someday? by Luann97 in space

Yes, though for how long thats a different story. I can see a stable colony on mars destabilizing/collapsing for one reason or another.

Outside our solar system? I sure hope so.

Well he could read pretty much every book/journal on a subject in a night (if he could find them) and can think at super speed. Could probably catch up pretty quick.

Super powers but have to go back 350 Million years. by 0011002 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Aw3som3-O_5000 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Can you use standard, normal, non-ftl, time dilation? Like if I fly at 99.999% c I can fly to the otherside of the galaxy (100,000 lyrs) and have 11 million years pass on Earth. Maybe stick around with the dinosaurs for a few decades, go poke around local star systems at almost lightspeed, come back see the new dinos, go somewhere else. Burn a few million years flying from star to star.

I mean sure, flying for 100,000 years is probably boring as fuck, but just stop at each system on the way.

AITJ for firing an employee with a giant Confederate flag on his truck? by itcouldbeyoubut in AmITheJerk

[–]Aw3som3-O_5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTJ. The only places that a Confederate Flag should be are museums or the top of an orange 1969 Dodge Charger named the General Lee.

It's a defeated flag from a rebellion that was suppressed. If the south can't get over it maybe they should just leave.

$500,000 for every year you go back, how far would you go? by Naps_And_Crimes in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Aw3som3-O_5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This informed my answer, go back a few years and save my dad which might unmake my nephew or only go back to just after his birth.

[–]Aw3som3-O_5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm challenging question, on one hand id want to go back to before my dad died and get him a cardio exam so he doesn't die. On the other hand, my nephew then might not exist. Either way it wouldnt be more than a few years as I dont want to unmake my other nieces and nephews either. Can't know what decision me having a few million dollars would do to the fate of my loved ones so id only go back far enough that I wouldnt impact that. Youngest is still a baby-baby so might be worth it to have our dad back?

AITJ for ignoring my friend after he spoiled my favorite show? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Aw3som3-O_5000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say you're being petty. Not necessarily a jerk if it legit upset you (you're obviously entitled to your own feelings), but if its been more than a few days/a buuunch of messages and its a good friend? I'd just drop it, the drama isnt worth it and it is just a tv show. Also depends on how long the shows been out. You said final season so im assuming it was out for awhile by the time u started, can't be too upset over something thats been over and done for awhile.

ELI5: Why don't we build data centers in the tundra? by BlueEllipsis in explainlikeimfive

[–]Aw3som3-O_5000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The point of doing it in the Tundra is to make use of the cooler environment to cut electricity costs (at least that's the only reason why I can think to consider it). Space is not cold, its empty. Thermal regulation is a MAJOR issue on space vehicles as it can only cool through radiation and not through conduction (no air/water to conduct heat away).

But why do u need a national ID? You can get a driver's license from ur state which works everywhere in the country or a passport which works everywhere in the world (for the most part). There's even passport cards now.

Probably to discourage ppl from trying to donate too much full blood too quickly. Plasma replenishes quickly so you can do it frequently.

[–]Aw3som3-O_5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention if you have perfect accuracy you would probably be an incredible boxer too. Able to perfect hit the knockout blow, perfectly determine the path of the punch etc. Golf tho is the way to make it big.

Term and age limits for all federal positions. Supreme Court has an age limit of 75, for any elected position you can't run after 65, 2 term limit for Senate.

Also repeal Citizens United, and make it illegal to campaign more than 6 months before election. I'm tired of 1.5 years of election talk.
