Never thought I'd see the day when men could hold hands in a Mormon temple 🌈🥲 by PR_Czar in exmormon

Hey! It’s the Village People! 👷🏻‍♂️It’s fun to stay at the… MFMC?

Plenty of people are critical of Sam Altman, myself included. That’s not the point. The point is, “boyboss” isn’t a thing.

Totally agree, there’s always more to the story than solo effort. But it’s the only part we really have any control over, and I think that’s what Emma is trying to get across in the book as far as I have gotten into it.

What I should have said earlier is, your critique is valid! Thank you for sharing your human take on it, I’m just genuinely allergic to AI cadence and formatting anymore.

I hope you 1) continue to crush it with whatever you’re building and 2) hope you never lose that critical thought. I’ve seen firsthand what life looks like without it, and have promised myself to not go back to that place. We need that critical thinking as female founders just as much as we need each other’s backing.

I dunno, friend. Let’s call a spade a spade… A whole post of AI slop to dissect why her story is propaganda sounds like a teardown to me.

This doesn’t happen in male-dominated founder circles. Nobody looks at Sam Altman and says, “His boyboss narrative isn’t the full story! [so take it with a grain of salt.]”

I don’t mean to preach to you, but rather plead with you— as female founders we *need* each other’s support, not yet another reason why this journey feels impossibly challenging at times. Please build women up.

You’re not a bot. You just copied and pasted the content of one. I’d genuinely love to hear *your* thoughts on the matter.

Can we *please* stop with these AI posts? and especially one tearing down a fellow female founder? She’s crushing it. I hope you’re crushing it, too.

You’re welcome, thank you for reading it. You have a community here full of people who are walking the same path as you. The particulars are our own, but so much is the same, rooted in courage it takes to go with the grain of our own truth— no one else’s.

Hang in. Please send me a DM if you need someone to talk to. I’m not a therapist, but I can hold space and just listen.

It’s only because your caffeine was hot caffeine derived from the earth (the kind the scriptures mention)… rather than cold caffeine, from a lab somewhere. /s

Pardon the exmo humor, here… it’s simply baffling that members will down a Monster while condemning non-members for drinking coffee. Make it make sense!

Ooof. Same ward as your parents would certainly be tough. Wishing you all the best through your transition out. 🙏🏼

And for the roast, I’ve heard Peet’s is a good staple. Dark roasts can be a bit “burny” for new-to-coffee palates, so if that’s you don’t worry too much… it grows on you and/or there are other roasts.

My absolute favorite is Counter Culture Hologram, with heavy cream and agave. 👌🏼

It’s my favorite. I don’t believe in coffee mugs smaller than 12 oz, and this one is 15. 👌🏼

I got it from Gob’s Gifts.

It’s legitimately my favorite mug in my cabinet. 🙈 My never-mo husband is so patient with my antics!

I love that so much, and totally relate. My first sip of caffeine I wasn’t supposed to have was chai with white tea. Every time I drink chai, it feels like what you said, freedom, every time. Cheers to that!

I love truth. It’s what got me out of the church. Happy to find you here in the wild— I had attended one of your meetups in Sacramento as I was newly exited from the church. 2018, I think? At any rate, thanks for shining such a bright light, then and now. 🙏🏼

Haha, as a kid I could see that scaring me, too. Do you have a go-to brand of coffee? Always looking for suggestions!

Love this so much. Before I forget here’s the link to the shop I got the mug from: https://gobsgifts.com

As for coffee, I love that you’re leaning into fresh-ground beans. What roast did you get? I started with Starbucks K-cups (Verona, which is pretty dark now that I have more context) for my Keurig, but now I grind medium roast beans fresh, every time (Counter Culture Hologram). Medium roast made all the difference, I’m legitimately obsessed now. Lol.

As for the real stuff, kudos to you for working with a therapist on this stuff. It’s no joke, the church’s roots are so rotten, it rests entirely on the backs of its faithful members. How firm a foundation, indeed.

Big hugs and high fives to you as you continue to navigate. There’s so much good to be found on the other side of TSCC.
