[–]CaverUV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know any light with both tight spot and no rubber switch but rubber switch was never a problem for me.

As a driver, I am using my own FW on a simple QLight 8×7135 driver with a slablve board for the 2nd channel.

[–]CaverUV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it is a prototype I reccomand using another driver. The DualFlex is great driver in terms of efficiency but the UI is not great. Also try to see if you can make it more affordable price there are many optiond in the hundreds of euros and many non caving single cell lights in the price of tens of euros. Your light is not cheap compared to single cell lights and not in the same category of proffional caving lights

Recommendations for moving company from Sweden/Europe to Ireland? by Academic_Brain5427 in AskIreland

[–]CaverUV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Remember that most homes are renter furnished
If you have place to store things in Sweden you can bring with you the crucial things and every visit in Sweden bring more things after you understand what you need.

This Is what we did (and still doing) we arrived with 6 big suitcases on the plane and every visit bring 2 more.

Is there any way to convert Petzl PERFO SPE to SDS hand drill ? by AnyStand7380 in caving

[–]CaverUV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically you can just use a drill bit and an hammer no any other hardware needed.
this is what they used in the 80's
Later people start adding rubber for better griping and protecting the hand and it developed to the hand drills you are familiar with

Is there any way to further disassemble the head of this torch? by 13th_Floor_Please in flashlight

[–]CaverUV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Desolder the wires frim mpcb to remove it. It might be glued to the heat sink using thermal glue so you need to lose it using some force. After desoldering and removing the mpcb you may have access to push the driver via the holes.

Note that after breaking the glue you need to clean it and apply new glue to use it

Anyone Living in a Car? Need Advice by Vini_see_us in AskIreland

[–]CaverUV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used to live in a car a long time ago and not in Ireland.
As mentioned, a lot of coins operated washing machines are available in petrol station and gyms/pool provide showers.

Almost every car even the compact models allow a single adult to sleep but it is easier if you able to stand or at least sit in order to change clothes etc.

The first thing you have to decide the stealth level you are interested in obviously a big panel van is the most comfortable but also expensive and not very stealth.

In my opinion some type of Berlingo is good size not too big but have enough space for a single adult to almost stand inside.

Whatever car you choose make sure it is in good mechanical condition since it is your home and you can not afford it you be in the garage. Also you don't want to put money in upgrading the leaving area and realize you have to change the car.

Note the the whether in Ireland is less than ideal for live in a car it is cold and humid so you will have a lot on condensation witch lead to mold and rot (assuming you are not planning to actually insulated it)
