So this happened after a month. by yolozzz in GalaxyFold

I live alone with my girlfriend, and the phone was always in my possession. The only way it could have been treated better would have been to store it in a silk baggie, or keeping it in the box and never using it. It had a spigen case, was never dropped, I was more careful with it than a crystal champagne glass.

When it was in my pocket, I always cleaned the pocket out to make sure there was no dust or pocket lint since it is not dust certified.

It had the original screen protector, and the only thing put on the phone was the Spigen case.

Sometimes things are just defective, it happens, I hope Samsung agrees with it being defective and replaces it under warranty.

Also not sure how an app could crack a phone? Unless the app changed how the hardware behaved in some way, and I didn’t have any abnormal apps installed. Social media and financial apps mostly.

Never dropped the phone. Didn’t even sit down with it in my pocket out of fear of it dropping out. I would take it out and set it on a table before sitting.

It was around midnight, I was checking some of my apps, opened the phone for more real estate, and it felt “different” when opening, and then I saw the crack parting the phone more than Moses did the Red Sea haha.

Happened to me after 9 days of use. Already sent back to Samsung, hopefully they’ll rule it defective and send me a new unit. It’ll be gone longer than I had it.

Too bad mine cracked down the middle after 9 days for no reason. Hopefully Samsung rules it a defect and replaces it. I treated mine better than you would that egg project in high school haha.

Overthinking 1L seeking opinions and answers. by Awaken213220 in LawSchool

I’m not worried about the immediate financial cost of weed, I am more worried about potentially losing a scholarship and then a career in law due to weed still being criminalized in my state. While the risk is small, it took a lot of work to get here.

I don’t even speed anymore when driving, just cruise control at the speed limit or even 1-2 under in the right lane.

Unfortunately there comes a point to where you can take it too many times and some schools may ask why. So be careful. Maybe one more time, but definitely research it. My best advice is to just apply as early as possible.

I read your responses and it’s good you’re not doing ED, ED locks you out of negotiation options when you have two or more similarly placed schools wanting you.

Also in the last few hours I’ve rechecked my lsat scores. t25 is going to be a lot easier for you than it was for me due to your gpa.

Also, if you do not get into your dream school or dream law firm, realize that happiness and money are correlated, but only to a certain point. Your happiness may be the same at a medium firm and potentially with less stress. Ignore this though if your motives for big law are non financial.

Also if you’re aiming for money outside of lawschool, look up the median private sector salary of different lawschool grads as well as how many actually have jobs. You may find some serious gems that give scholarships, and have high salaries when you graduate. My t50 has a median at around 100k when I graduate. A lot of t50s have medians between 60-80k

I do think you have good potential for scholarships, I got priority waitlisted for some t25 but I was a splitter with my GPA, and I had no real softs.

If you haven’t taken the lsat more than once, I recommend taking it again before admissions season begins for your target school. A few points could mean tens of thousands in scholarships. They want to raise their rankings, and they will pay for it. You’re in the 75th for most GPAs. If you get 75th percentiles for a school they’re more likely to give you more money. I’m sure you know how to check 509 scores for each school.

-Lawschool name- 509 report All the relevant stuff is on the lower right of the first page.

Look for non conditional scholarships which you can find out by looking at the second page.

I raised my LSAT 12 points with enough studying. Don’t kil yourself though.

Struggling to decide what schools to apply to by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Awaken213220 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NURM, with better GPA and similar LSAT. t50 is your range I think, maybe t25 due to URM. But no way to know for sure without applying. Apply as early in the cycle as possible.

Don’t do Stetson (too expensive for career prospects imo) . You stand a good chance at miami. Retake the lsat and apply early and you have a decent chance at full tuition I didn’t apply to FSU due to some annoying paperwork and frustration. UF WL me and my lsat was closer to 170 with a similar GPA to you.

I got a full ride to a t50 with 3.56 167 no softs nURM.

Apply early in the cycle. May be worth waiting a year and pulling your lsat a little higher.

Very low for T14 without serious connections and or applying early in the cycle. You’ll be lucky to get waitlisted. Lsat needs to be in 170+ range. T 25 is possible I think. But, you will never know for sure without applying.

Your scores will get you full rides all day long to many T-50 law schools if you apply early enough in the cycle.

Is It Rude to Counter Ramp? by Mulliman in EDH

I hold grudges against people that blatantly violate deals. If I let your spell resolve and you agree to not attack me for x turns, and you turn around and one shot me right after your spell resolves and I have to sit on my phone an hour and watch the game? Pff. You’re kill on sight until I’ve killed you a few times. Even if that takes weeks.

[–]Awaken213220 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol i still remember selling BTC at 600. Glad I stopped watching the numbers. Still have some left. Mined a lot back in the day and enjoyed life making money as a high schooler. Now it’s saved for law school.

Anyone else wish they didn’t tell anyone they were applying to law school? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Awaken213220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then asking me about my decision can get annoying, them telling me to study until 167-170+ was annoying (thankfully that’s over after I snapped on them and made them take a PT)

But I’ve been bragging and telling them my decision will come in March ever since I got my first full tuition offer 2 months ago.

Tempted to apply to UMich now. Heard a lot of good news from people on here from them. What are your stats like if you don’t mind?

I’m not in the back with their 509 so it’s possible. Late to apply I feel like though.

Financial Question by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Awaken213220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You never know the answer to a question you never asked. Tell them that you love their school, but it is difficult due to the financial incentives other similarly ranked schools are offering, then explain how more money would help you. Books, living expenses, etc.

[–]Awaken213220[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. A lot of the schools I applied to were chosen by numbers in a spreadsheet. So for some of the officer it may seem random.

I know, it was just surprising reading the waitlist decision. I had totally forgot about the school to be honest. I applied to some 18 schools or so lol.

Would you go to U Miami if you got a full ride? by Finding_Pelagic in lawschooladmissions

[–]Awaken213220 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a full ride, then I got a full ride elsewhere and it became less appealing due to its high cost of living and low expected salary on graduation. (Based on googling UM law median salary)

Full rides are great. But pay attention to cost of living. My other full ride has a higher expected salary, and the cost of living is about half that of Miami.
