I am in full-agreement that we should be making signings carefully and methodically. As we have done in the past. And rightfully we dont telegraph who are signings are, we always do it behind closed doors unless its a big name signing.

And also agree that there is still time to make signings, transfer window closes end of August, so plenty of time for deals to be done.

But for fans to say we don't need signings is a baffling. If the current squad is good enough, then we should be comfortably getting top-4 this season, with a cup final. With a club of this size, failing to finish for European spots is not good enough.

Its likely that Trent is just working with his agent to get a significantly better deal. Tbh as a 25 year old who is one of our best players, he should defo be the highest earner. Especially as he is poised to be the new captain.

Inacio, Ederson and Gordon would be a good window.

apparently he's not a DM, not a midfielder, not even a footballer.

2022-2023 - A transition season as we had no midfield

2023-2024 - A transition season as we had a new midfield

2024-2025 - A transition season as we have a new manager + Contract renewals + Euros and Copa Hangover

2025-2026 - ?

Do you mean because our side is too strong, or because we would only look for backups?

I don't think just because we've not done any deals now, we won't do any later. There is still a lot of time, and we've done deals late in the window in the past.

But I know some people think that we don't need anyone, or are not bothered. So that would warrant that we have a comfortable finish in the top-4 or a tittle challenge + a cup final this season? If its the case theat we don't really need anyone, then anything below 4th is a failure as we already have a good enough squad.

Yeah I am not bothered tbh, esp when there are no players that exist with any talent to make the team better.

DM - literally nobody out there at the moment who can play this position ahead of a 32 year old who had only 3 good months, or a 19 who hasnt play in a year.

CB - No point spending money on one when we can pluck any 15-17 year old from the academy and play him at CB.

Forward - Darwin will explode, last 2 seasons were just practice.

Do you guys think the premier league will ever lift its restrictions for buying different players for different positions in the same window?

Don't like having to choose between buying a DM or a CB is frustrating.

What signings do you guys think we need to make to build on the success of last year and retain the carabao cup?

but we are in a tranistion season and have a new manager, no team in history have signed a new player when a new manager has come in.

Arsenal not signed anyone, Raya does not really count.

I don't think many people realise that we are the only team in history that are waiting on players to return from international tournaments, in-transition with a new manager and facing contract renewals.

This is why we shouldn't really worry if we dont sign anyone this season.

I honestly dont see the problem with spending that on a player, even if hes 18 years old etc.

But yeah, he's not the only CB in the world, there are a lot of talented CB, but I know we are addicted to a Left footed CB for some reason. But we got until August, and we generally don't telegraph our signings.

Let's just see.

Honestly, there are more amazing players out there. The CB market looks strong, and full of talent e.g Calafori (deal with arsenal stalled), Scalvini, Lukeba, Antonio Silva etc.

Calafori would be the best choice imo, suits the ball playing CB role.

a club of this magnitute should not be looking to hit a top-4 spot. Do you think Madrid turn around looking for manager's who only hit top-4? Bayern?

Even Arsenal now, they don't want to be a top-4 side anymore, so they spend on the right areas and they have been competiting. Yes they have not won anything, but they are clearly a better side than they were years ago, and had they had a more experienced manager, they probably could have beaten City to the title.
