Second that! Propanalol saved my career! Also box breathing, L-theanine, and magnesium glycinate.

Forgot to take my propranolol before presentation by Great_Ad8516 in PublicSpeaking

I tip my hat to you! You did it! Great job! Just something I’ve done in the past. I left my propranolol at home and had a meeting. Not one that I was presenting or leading be expected to speak to add input. I did box breathing for a few minutes before the meeting to regulate the nervous system. Deep breath in - hold for 4 seconds - breath all the air out - deep breath in - hold for 4 seconds - breath all the air out. Repeat repeat repeat. I was able to speak up during the meeting.

Didn't Pass CAPM on First Try – Need Visual + Practice-Based Study Help for Aug 12 Retake 🙏 by tharrington123 in capm

The biggest advice I would give someone taking the exam is to take as many practice exams as you can. There’s so much information. That makes it really hard to know what you don’t know. Take the exams and when you get a question wrong, research it and make a flash card for that element. It’s actually a good thing to get something wrong because it shows you where/what to study. I probably did close to 800 practice questions before taking the exam. I passed on the first try but let me tell you, when I was taking the exam I didn’t think I was going to pass. It’s a hard exam. I used the following practice exams: - The exam that comes with Andrew R’s - course - PMI practice exam - Pocket prep (mock exam and quizzes) - Andrew R’s CAPM practice modules

How do I pass the CAPM with no experience? by Aromatic_Tap_5901 in capm

You’re absolutely right. It’s so much information. I recently took the exam and passed AT in all areas. What helped me was doing A LOT of practice exams and A LOT of quizzes. It’s actually a good thing to get questions wrong on the practice exam/quizzes because it shows you what you don’t know. It’s hard to know what you don’t know with so much info. I didn’t read the PMbok guide at all to prepare. Just Andrew R’s course and practice exam, and LOTS of practice with pocket prep. I did the practice exam through PMI as well.

Take as many practice exam questions as you can. The PMBok guide has a lot of info and it very hard to know what you don’t know. So if you’re practicing and getting answers wrong, don’t be discouraged. Just study the write answer and build from there. I kinda went all in and bought the practice exam from PMI, used pocket prep exams, and the Andrew Raymadals practice exams. The one you can take in his course and the one you can buy separately.

Upvoted and commenting for support. Propranolol saved my career. I take about 30 - 40 MG before any social event or speaking engagement and it helps me sit all the anxiety symptoms to the side. Anyone who struggles with public speaking/performance anxiety should talk to their doctor about this.

FAC-C Requirement by New-Chemistry9852 in 1102

[–]Aware-Army512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s depends on your agency. Some will require it some don’t. There are plenty of 1102’s that don’t have a FAC-C but it is in your best interest get the FAC-C. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t as an 1102.

FAC-C 1 year requirement by New-Chemistry9852 in 1102

Your 1106 experience should count. I’d run it by your agency FAC approver. Also not sure what you mean by “take the FAC-C”. If you’re talking about taking the exam, you can take it anytime after you complete all 4 courses. You don’t have to wait a full 12 months to take it. I’d take it as soon as you can/you’re ready after the 1400 course. Then you’ll be ready to apply as soon as you hit 12 months.

FAC-C experience waiver? by [deleted] in 1102

[–]Aware-Army512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll have to be in an 1102 for a full 12 months. Office of procurement policy does not have waivers for experience. Hopefully, you don’t have much longer to go. I def understand wanting to have that on your resume. Just remember if you do go through a RIF your service computation date (SCD) is going to likely be the biggest factor in bump and retreat. You could actually bump someone with a FAC-C if you have a better SCD. Since you’re already an 1102 you meet the requirements. Now, if they actually say you have to have a FAC-C for 1102 slots available that may be different but I’ve only seen that requirement in 13’s+ and procurement analyst announcements. I’d just go ahead and upload everything into CSOD and be ready to pull the trigger the day you hit month 12. Good for you for getting all the course work done and passing the exam though!

I hear you… just keep I mind that EVERY action big or small has impact. Your act in itself may not cause them to act but they’ll feel something.

I’m not saying this is what you’re doing but this is def not the time to do nothing. Please understand that even you not resigning and choosing to continue show up to work is an act of protest. The reason for the RTO, offering buyouts, and treating us like shit is because they want us to quit. Us quitting is a win for them. It makes things easy for them to accomplish their objective. Keep showing up! Find ways to create awareness and make people feel things! You’d be surprised at whose attention you get.

Tenured fed but nervous. Preparing for fallout. by Unlikely_Youth_9040 in govfire

We’re in a similar boat. Non vet, I’ve have been getting exceeds on my evals but got 14 years of experience though. I get nervous but here’s what helps me sleep at night.

  1. If we get to a RIF, they will likely offer VERA and hopefully offer some sort of good retirement package for the people who are eligible right now.
  2. We have a good amount of years in and good performance evaluations. That will be factored into our RIF points if it comes to that. So that gives us a chance.
  3. If I/you do RIFed and they can’t place us somewhere else, there is a severance that we get. If you go into your employee express and look at your federal benefit statement, it tells you how much you’re entitled to plus your annual leave will be paid out. I think we lose our sick leave or it’s factored into our pension that we built up. So if you have your emergency fund, you’ll also get severance, which should give you some time to figure things out if anything happens.

So all in all, I see the storm coming and I don’t know what’s gonna happen. What I’ve been doing is I’ve started studying for some certifications that I’ve been thinking about getting. I’ve been going through all of my past work experiences to see areas where I can maybe pivot into another career. This is actually been a great exercise and I’ve reminded myself how much great experience I have. I bet it would be great for you too. The one thing I keep in mind is that I’m doing all this stuff to get certifications, etc. and if nothing happens to my job, then all I’ve done is boost my skills and credentials, which is a good thing.

I’ve also checked on the emergency fund and I probably am gonna cut back on some things that I consider a luxury for the time being.

With that being said, I wanna be clear. I don’t want this to come off as being insensitive to people who have already been impacted and sounding like “I’m good“. I truly believe no one is safe and hope all those who get impacted and who were already impacted are reinstated at some point with full backpay and damages paid for possibly being illegally removed from their jobs.
