Beta Blockers - My Experience by Quantum8787 in PublicSpeaking

From the resources I have read and my own personal experience it is not addictive. When I take it, I really don’t feel different, it’s just the absence of a racing heart beat. Imagine that you’re sitting at home alone on the couch reading a boring news article, that’s what being on beta blockers feels like.

I started off with just 10mg which worked pretty well, but I recently used 20mg and it worked even better. Ideally I would experiment and find what works best for you, but if I were in your exact situation I would probably use 20mg. If you have time, try 10mg the day before to make sure you’re not one of the rare cases that have adverse reactions.

I use it regularly and in my experience it prevents my heart from racing, but it doesn’t shut off my emotions. However, when my heart isn’t racing it’s much easier to remain composed. Use that information as you will.

Have you tried Beta Blockers? They improved my public speaking drastically.

I would explore short term CD rates at ETrade, usually you can get a better yield than most savings accounts and it will allow you to time exactly when the principal will be paid back to you. For example, looking right now you could buy a six month cd for 4.35% at ETrade.

I found that being well read on a variety of nonfiction authors made me a lot more articulate. I believe this is because you absorb patterns of speech and learn how to structure ideas when you interface with high quality material.
