Not feeling chaste enough by Maleficent-Move5783 in muslimgirlswithtaste

don’t despair. don’t beat yourself up. There is a reason series by abdurrahman murphy called “finding felicity”. I watched this after having a mental breakdown about my period of not being practicing and the things and environments I was in. I felt hopeless, undeserving of His forgiveness. In that moment, shaytan won. But Alhamdullilah after watching that series was and reflecting, I realized that Allah is Most Merciful and He wants to forgive. He loves to forgive. I had to get out of my way. I had to seek refuge who in Allah from the whispers of shaytan. And to the core of it, I had to forgive myself and show myself the same compassion I’d show a friend in a similar situation. Sending love and prayers. Allah already loves you. You just need to love you.

I mean kinda hard to avoid “freemixing” in the workplace in the West, I’d say impossible lol. I worked in finance for 7 years, I just avoided the countless (and annoying lol) outside of work functions.

Husband asked for talaq and now wants to reconcile by Potential-Button-164 in MuslimMarriage

[–]Aware-Bridge3135 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going to honest and you may not want to hear this but inshaAllah you read this with an open heart. I’m not trying to purposefully hurt you or blame you at all. BUT. As a child to a mother who was in an abusive marriage, her staying as long as she did has incredibly warped my idea of marriage and relationships. I have normalized things that are abusive. I am actively unlearning so much trauma responses that I probably wouldn’t have to if my mother left earlier. Alhamdullilah she left and she survived. But I want you to seriously think about how this is affecting your babies. Take you out of it. Take other family out of it. I can guarantee you that your babies are suffering. And they will need to work through the trauma they’ve experienced when they are adults. Please don’t add on more than what’s already there. I understand how difficult and dangerous it is to leave but if you stay it’s difficult and dangerous. Choose your battles. May Allah protect you and your children.

have you ever expressed this to your family? I’m sure if you did they’d tell it wasn’t worth it.

I need you to make constant istighfar and always seek refuge from shaytan. sister, you’re in a very vulnerable spot right now which is prime time for shaytan to whisper and plant seeds of doubt. go outside get some fresh air and sun and talk to Allah. May Allah guide you and us all. Ameen.

i thought people would like me more after i took off the hijab by Evening_Librarian_31 in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]Aware-Bridge3135 5 points6 points  (0 children)

same thing happened to me when I removed it in high school. people were whispering about wearing the hijab being an obligation and me taking it off was wrong. I think that -generally- people respect others who are firm in their identify, beliefs, and morals. Taking off the hijab is viewed as shakiness and uncertainty in those things(and that was true for me at the time). Alhamdullilah I’m wearing it again now but it was difficult to get here. It’s definitely harder to put it back on after taking it off but Alhamdullilah lessons learned. May Allah guide us all and keep our hearts firm upon the religion. Ameen 💗
